rubysmama There is a kitty story I have been saving for a special time. I know you enjoy the upbeat posts each morning so....this one is for you. Out of a thousand posts, I hope a few have made you smile and that the kitties can do that again.

What if cats could fly? The following reflects what I imagine the kitties would think about that.

Maybe we should think about that!

If we could fly?!?!? You mean we can’t?

Not even when we grow up?

This is a bit of a shock!

I’m gonna practice anyway.

‘Cuz if we could fly.....,

Just imagine all the things we could do!

We could leap to the top of a cage in a single bound!

We could also fly off the top of the cage instead of having to jump to the ground!

We wouldn’t have to look under a door because we could reach the door knob!

A kitten could guard the door from above!

This would be easy!

Wow! A cat on a hot tile roof!

Everything would be different. I think all kitties should practice flying!

I tried but Mom caught me before I got to the chicken.

There are so many here who have been supportive. I am grateful and appreciate every single thought, good wish, hope, dream, PM and post. The kitties survive with the help of your kind acts towards me.

1000 posts! Wow! What do I win? A cat? You know I'd take one in a heartbeat, however, I think Miss Ruby would have something to say about that. Of course I don't know for sure, but I'm 99.9% sure she's totally happy as her mama's only kitty, and wants it to stay that way.

That little kitten is Domino. A kitten a I had trouble letting go of until someone offered to take Domino and Uff tigether. They were the hardest for me to ever give up.

Awww, that must have been so hard. Domino is absolutely adorable. I hope she's getting all the love she deserves in her new home. It's good that the vet is keeping an eye on her for you.

Wonderful news on all kitties with new homes! You do SUCH a remarkable job with them, start to finish. And BJ is really coming along! He's a handsome laddie, he is! I have a soft spot for big, squishy toms!

Tell your babies that learning to hover is the first step to flying!

Norachan Twinkle is a great name! She looks like she is ready to launch like a bird! Maybe we are related and she is a catbird! That is such a great picture.
I think of Domino and Uff all the time. I do hope for every possible good thing to go their way. By the way..... UFF stands for Unidentified Flying Feline! UFF is in the third through fifth of the photos in the last post. I bottle raised him.

rubysmama i am glad you enjoyed the photos. That was the first long narrative I have done on a while but I thought that you deserved one.
I think peanut butter all around would be a great celebration! Do you have a favorite? If Ruby would allow I would send you a cat and some peanut butter! Maybe I need to send a grab bag of cute cat items! Something for Ruby too? If you tell me what you enjoy then maybe I can get creative and come up with something neat. You let me know!

My news about the kitties today is that Mittwo has been released from observation. She is unhurt physically. She has had an emotional setback but today she was given the best room in the shelter. She is in the sunroom with her old friend and housemate, Jazzy. I am hoping that will help her to adjust again. I do have photo of her. You can see in her expression that she has had an unhappy time. It really upsets me but if she needs to come back to me, I will keep her permanently. I can promise that I will make her feel loved and secure again

I hope she will regain the happy expressions she had in the previous photos.

The happier side of things is that Kodiak has become a real clown, Thrasher is a real love bug and BJ is eating out of my lap and looking forward to the time I spend with him each day. He is still jumpy when others are near but much more relaxed around me. I see a lot of positive changes in him. He is a sweet big teddy bear.

Kodiak has decided that playing with my hair should be a nightly routine.

She attacks my hair as though it is her toy.

I have to laugh at how excited she gets when she plays.

Thrasher melts into my hands now when I pet her.

BJ is no longer hesitant to approach my lap.

He is very calm and seems to enjoy my company. Cats are such loving creatures.

It’s always a joyous moment when the kitties show me that they know they can trust me.

Thank you for the vibes! You obviously read cat speak well! Her eyes tell her feelings. It struck me the same way. Maybe some Jazzy Head butts will help. A familiar face should be very welcome. My foster friend will be visiting her too. She lives fairly near the shelter and Miytwo knows her so I think that will really help. I am grateful for anything she can do to offer her comfort. I wish I lived close enough to go there every day. Probably would just want to move in though! Lol I’d spend all my time loving all the babies there.

Poor Mittow, I can see she's lost her smile. I hope having her friend Jazzy around makes her feel better. Really it's good that she came back to the shelter when things didn't work out in her new home. It could have been worse if they had kept her and she'd ended up getting more scared. Fingers crossed that everything works out for her.

Already have signal troubles. It happens whenever a storm comes near. We won’t know much about what to expect with the storm until it makes landfall. I will post as I have a signal. I thought I would do my smile posting early, just in case. Shelters are opening up here now.
We do expect power outages.

No new kitty news today other than continuing to work with socializing. Everything here will likely be shutting down because of rain and wind. It is dark and pouring rain here now even though it isn’t from hurricane Michael. I have not seen BJ this evening but I am hoping he is in one of the shelters I built for the last storm. I will look for him some more when I have a chance to dry out a little.

Considering the weather, I think the kitties are going to be looking up! Optimistic as always! I’m not sure why my kitties are always looking up but we’ll take it as a good thing!

Signals terrible but update is, I am soaked but I found BJ safe in a high shelter I built. I could not catch him but he did eat supper as I got soaked! Lol I will try again in the morning. He chose the shelter I consider to be the safest place to be. Smart kitty! He is dry and safe from predators. Nothing larger than a cat can get where he is.There are screens below that I hope will prevent most things from climbing up.

catsknowme It is actually an elderly friend I often look after that was here before. Trying to see about them. I have often been alone during these things or taking care of others. When my daughter was here I was much more worried as to how to keep her safe. Now I worry about the cats. I just have to do all in my power to prepare and then trust that whatever is meant to happen, will happen. Stalwart! Thank you, but really just having faith and hope. All prayers and vibes are much appreciated. It is looking like we will get something here. Maybe the storm will play out.
