ileen ileen i love the shell jewelry. The dark silver shell, is it fossil shell or just a lovely color? I think you will do well with these. The perfect spiraling of the shells is delicate and pleasing. Etsy or EBay or somewhere should snap these up. I think there are rules about selling here but you sure can show them off her! I love creating and seeing the creations of others. I bet the kitties would love spinning those around! Maybe you could make some cat spinning toys too. Then they might leave your earrings alone. Lol
M maggiedemi i don’t think I have introduced all of my own kitties rescues. I have 15 and then I have 14 adopted currently here. There are four I have sent for adoption too. I have mostly focused on the recent rescues. My babies are as follows: Mama, Muffin, Lady, Lambie, Smokey, Mackie, Dolly Dali, Purry, Precious, Saffron, Sherbie, Cheetah, Jeremiah, Missy and Bonjure!

Oh! My good news! M maggiedemi will be especially pleased since she sent good fortune our way. The kitten she named, Violet, went to be spayed today. She is the first of the Flowers babies to go. The vet working on her fell in love with her. She has been adopted into the best place a kitten could live! She will get the best care ever and never lack for anything. Since they see so many kitties there, she really must have stolen a heart today! Good girl Violet. I was very moved that she has been taken into such a great home.

Aww, blessings on little Violet. You know when someone like a vet who has seen hundreds or thousands of cats picks one, she's really special. Plus now all your other cats will get extra special care, since you're the one who brought the vet sweet Violet.

The shell that I made into a pendant is actually a blueish color, I think fairly unusual. Someone told me it's part of a nautilus shell. Normally I don't pick up partial shells, but this one was unique. We never see full nautilus shells on Long Island beaches as far as I know, and I've never even seen a partial nautilus like this. I think it was only because it was caught up in a giant mass of seaweed that it made it to the shore.

Oh that's wonderful! I didn't realize that it was a vet that adopted Violet. We definitely don't have to worry about her getting proper care and living an amazing life. :cheerleader:

Thank you all for the shared joy for Violet! Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 The cute little congratulations kitty truly sparkles. I don’t know where you find such darling pictures. I am very relieved that a special kitten is in such appropriate hands!
ileen ileen That shell is really beautiful. The color is amazing.
Here are the last photos of the kittens that most recently got adopted. The final portraits I have of them before their new parents took them to love.

Our best news for tonight is that there is someone who wants Eisenhower. They must work out details with a landlord first but there is hope. We should know by the middle of next week if it worked out. Paws crossed on that one.

Maybe we need a few head butts of affection from some of the kitties here for good luck and a small smile.

Good news below!
M maggiedemi Soory I have not really mentioned everyone. Since around 90 cats have lived here in the past months it’s kind of hard to get all of them in. My focus has been more on the current rescues than my babies from the colony in 2007-8. Mama is one of my 15. They were here when I started these rescues last November. My original rescues are Dolly, Mackie, Smokey, Purry, (Mama, Saffron, Precious, Lambie), (Lady, Muffin, Cheetah, Sherbie, Jeremiah) Bonjure and Missy. Rescued in that order. The ones in parenthesis are the Moms followed by her children. They are the ones I could not find homes for. It was much harder back then. There were some others that lived here but I lost them to Feline Leukemia. Mackie is the only one who tested positive that still survives. Most died in the first couple of years of the illness becoming active. By the time I rescued the last I had already been immunizing the outside cats and doing TNR so the colony stopped spreading the illness. Thankfully. Mama is a very sweet middle aged lady. Her children are all sweet too. Lady is a long haired Calico and she bred with a part Bengal. Her children are a bit aggressive compared to all the others , although sweet with me. They tend to dislike other cats. A tight knit family. Lady did accept others though. If I could find her a home where she got more attention it would probably be better. It would be harder to let her go now but she and Lambie are two that are very adoptable. I just ran out of options back then. All are spayed/neutered and immunized. That’s my kitty family. Since some of this colony may be unadoptae, my family may have to grow. Not sure how we will manage but I will give them all I have to offer.

Thank you to everyone for being happy for the recent kitty adoptions. I am very grateful for all the kind sentiments. I know the kitties areCould you use a little more good news!?!?!?! The Cat Cafe found a home for Man! Need a little more than that to make your day? Eisenhower got adopted today! I think that piece on the news really helped. Two more are safe. Now I need for Mittwo to be okay and find a home and for Jazzy to get one too. They are the only two I have at the shelter right now. I do hope to send a few more very soon. Kodiak and Thrasher really want homes. They are ready. If I can manage the cost I may send as many as four or five kitties if they have the space. I only have 28 cats in the house now but it is still a lot to take care of and I need to bring BJ in.

Our smiles for tonight? How about a theme of,” Things are looking up in the world for the kitties”!?!?!! I found that I have a lot of photos of very optimistic looking kitty expressions. No wonder kitties make us smile!

Oh, that is good news! Those boys deserved to find a forever home. I hope everything works out well for them.

Could you tell me who this little guy is? What happened with this kitten, have they been adopted? He/She looks so much like my Button Moon.

Is that to the shelter? Or the cat cafe? And do you have to pay their expenses until they're adopted?

Norachan Norachan Thsnk you for the good wishes for my boys! I hope too.
That little kitten is Domino. A kitten a I had trouble letting go of until someone offered to take Domino and Uff tigether. They were the hardest for me to ever give up. I cried for two weeks. Just something about them......
I got some updates early on but nothing in a while. I still miss them. They went to live on a farm with lots of other critters including one other house cat. They were supposed to be strictly indoor kitties but I did find out that she was putting them out at first in a dog kennel. She claimed they liked it. If I could have recovered them, I would have. I admonished her about not following the agreement and the last couple of videos I got were of them inside. I do hope for the best for them. There is a little girl in the home so I am hoping she cuddles them as I did. I did get an update from the vet that they are getting follow up wellness visits so I try not to worry. The vet assured me that if anything abusive comes to their attention, I will be notified. I probably just worried because not everyone will treat them the same way I would. Different is not always bad. The worst thing about rescuing so many is that I cannot keep them. Domino is a very special girl.

What does a dog kennel look like? I do let my cats go out in the garage. I don't really want them out there, but they will throw themselves at the door if I don't. Our garage connects to the house via a breezeway, so it is basically enclosed, but the door is like a shed, there is a space underneath it.

rubysmama rubysmama I am glad they got adopted too. Smart kitties!
I pay for everything for the kitties. I did get to use a grant to help with 18 Spay/neuter but I have paid for all else because I just couldn’t find any help and I could not stand by and do nothing. I think it is around 82 I have done so far. Food, shots, fixing, worming, flea treatments, a surrender fee to put them up for adoption and any care for illness. I am more than willing to pay that fee, as the shelter I use will return my kitties to me if they don’t get adopted. All the shelters here euthanize if a cat runs out of the allotted time for adoption. I will not let that happen to any cat if I can prevent it. I knew it would be a huge struggle when I took this on but I just kept working a few at a time on the vet stuff. The food, flea treatments and litter have been a constant but if I can hold on a little longer, we will get there! I would give up everything to stop what was happening to the kitties when I started this.
Besides, I love peanut butter! :flail:

For others reading this, I don’t want you to think you have to struggle as I did. Things are improving! I have been researching this issue for the past year and have now found newly established resources. As more people become aware of the need for TNR and adoptions, things are getting better. TCS is a great help in that effort. Don’t give up! If I can do this then anyone can. Just make an appeal for help. TCS is the place to do it. Many people here have the knowledge to help you.

Maybe an early smile is in order. My last feral? BJ is responsible. This is what I think his expressions are telling me.

I cleaned my plate.

M maggiedemi A dog kennel is usually just an enclosed, fenced area with a doghouse to keep your dogs in. Some have a top and concrete floor but some are more basic. There is a leash law here for cats and dogs so neither is allowed to roam outside without a restraint. The woman who took those kittens did text me back that she would be keeping the kittens inside. I did look into reclaiming them but since her more recent photos and texts backed up her message, I would have had to have obtained proof that she violated our agreement. I also knew that her little daughter was attached to them by then. It’s a difficult situation but I do try to follow up as I can. The vet is trying to help me with the updates as they are allowed. The vet fell in love with these two as well so even if they cannot relay information to me, they will take good care of them.

What a sweetie-pie, BJ is. Can't wait to hear he's joined the others at Jcatbird Jcatbird 's bird Club Med for Cats. :petcat:

And, may I speak for all the kitties you've helped, and say THANK YOU !!!! Your sacrifices, even if you love peanut butter, have made the lives of so many innocent cats a million times better. Bravo. And thank you. :heartshape::catlove: :heartshape:
