N NY cat man went with humour. So I'll go with an Irish proverb.

View attachment 375665
I don't understand the attitude of western society toward elders because in our background, elders are most valued. They are the wisdom keepers and the story tellers. And to devalue someone because they have lived longer than someone else? Insane!
But back OT, here is a very much loved 16-year-old feral cat.

If you're online and have a device, you can help others. It's the way most work is done now. We talked about this before.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 im sorry my memory is not all that great after having a slight stroke awhile back
Well, if you love to help cats, find a page of a shelter, local or otherwise, on your social media, and share each cat. It increases their visibility and so, chances of being adopted. If you're into something else, like people, the environment, whatever, you can do the same things for them. You can sign petitions online at change.org or other venues. There are zillions of things to do and you not only help others who really need it, you help yourself as well!

N NY cat man Good point. We fear failure. I certainly have experienced that and some things do fail but when we succeed......:cloud9::bunnydance:best ever. Even when we fail, we learn and can try again. Sometimes the second or third time is the charm! Sometimes we excel at something new!
I agree that another day to watch the grass grow from above is a good day.

BellaGooch BellaGooch Oh. Well. The kitties fooled you too. Glad I’m not the only one! I was the one that got spooked! The cats set me up for April Fool! Good one. Somehow I think this may have been a collaborative effort between Lady and Banjo.🤔
;)

Lari Lari I am so sorry. I guess the answer must be in their hands. They know their cat best. It’s always a tough decision when you are trying to determine the quality of the life in front of you. Our hearts tell us to keep trying and letting go is very difficult but if kitty is having nothing but bad, then your Aunts will know. Maybe the syringing gave Belle enough energy to stir again? That is what I would have expected. Good or bad. They must be exhausted. That makes decisions even harder. Sub Q would probably boost Belle again. Not everyone is able to do things like that or feel that the life extension will be better. I know you will offer them support as you can. We do too.:redheartpump::grouphug2: Sending all prayers.

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 Yes.:grouphug2: For Belle and family.

strider rose strider rose I hope your day was okay. Boring? I’d actually love some of that for a minute. Frustration? I FULLY understand that! I can tell you that just posting encouragement on TCS or just right here is a great service. I get really tired sometimes. I could certainly use your help. Find a smile and stick it right..... here! Any smile will do. ;) even sideways. Sometimes it is the smallest thing we do that carries someone and we don’t even realize it. I am amazed at how you do all the pen pal writing. I bet that getting a letter makes many days better for anyone you write. I wish I could do that too! Anyway,I am glad you are here with us! So very sorry about the health challenges. You are not alone.:hugs: Stick around. We

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Not much rest. Lol I had planned to get some but with every noise I got cat treads across me. A new trash compacting truck came by early this morning and woke us all. Lol Then I had a good phone call shortly after dozing back off. My friend who recovered from Covid and then had the broken hip had gone back into the hospital with pneumonia. A week with no word. I have been very worried. The call was from my friend! Very weak but very tough. I am grateful to their son for helping them to dial me so I could hear their voice again, We set a goal to visit as soon as my friend is well enough. Maybe no rest but definitely relief! Birthdays for me can be just another day or a day to honor Sarah but finding a day of helping someone to have a goal to reach for is a good day. My friend is 83 and I do respect and honor anyone older. Tough and many things to teach and tell.

rubysmama rubysmama I hope I am among the privileged!

:) I have kitties!

M maggiedemi So how are you tonight?

Our smiles tonight come from Banjo and a few others as well as their benefactor who sent the St. Paddy’s day box. I realize I haven’t posted all those photos and Easter is hopping right up!

One of the things in the box was a magic tin. It had Froggies all over it. They are having a day of fun. What could be inside? Froggie treats? Lol A tin of thise tasty brown bugs that Froggie likes? 🤔

Well, the tin is nice but I’m looking for something.

I’m looking but I don’t see the pot of gold. Is it in my litter box? Do I have to pan for the gold?
2FCDD3BF-3E1F-40F6-9FE7-D2B03FB351CC.jpeg

I see a good sign. It’s a cat, unicorn, mermaid. Part cat, frog and unicorn must be a great combination!

Let me see inside the tin pot.

Your Mother, Mitsy has some advice. Well, now it must be saved. Put it into the kitty. After all, a kitty saved is a kitty earned!

My aunt texted this morning and said Belle had a really rough restless night with a lot of meowing and this morning no energy, so right or wrong, they're not going to try to force feed her or force fluids unless something changes. :frown: I can't even imagine trying to figure out the right thing to do in this case.
Still keeping Belle in my prayers.
Hang in there.

That's a really good thing for you to do, then! And there are organizations that pair soldiers who are back in civilian life with companion animals, which can make all the difference in both their lives.

Thanks to everyone for their prayers. My aunts took Belle to the vet this morning and she's now crossed the Rainbow Bridge. :frown: I know they made the best decision for her quality of life, but it's still very sad.

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 Wow, Gypsy, that's a fancy neighborhood you live in -- those houses look like White House Jr. or something! And the daffodils and paperwhites -- so beautiful! (My mom was from central IL. It looks really nice there.) I'm hoping Thrasher picked up on those "GO HOME!" vibes and saw that expression -- not to mention that snazzy sweater! If that isn't enough incentive to leave one's wandering ways and turn tail for home, IDK what is!
Lari Lari Fly free, whole, healthy, and forever Cherished, sweet angel Belle! Watch over your beloveds here below until reunited in due time. Rest now in Perfect Love. *My heartfelt condolences to you all for the loss.*
