That's terrible. They shouldn't take hours to rescue people, especially in the winter. People could freeze to death!
We have Triple A too, and I hope we never have to use them now! That's unacceptable and scary. :headshake:
Sure is, M maggiedemi and it shouldn't be that way but more and more, it's incompetency and fails. *Modern problems!* :livid:

I wanted to pop in to catch up your cloweder, Jcatbird. Finn has started joining me for story time. He took a particular liking to BJ's pics tonight - I just had to share.

That photo is adorable! Finn wants a clowder to play with. Lol Maybe a clowder could exhaust that energy.
I’m so glad you sent this! It made my day! We love you too Finn. Charlie too! I always think it’s so neat when the kitties react to cats on the computer screen. Has Finn seen Nora the piano playing cat? My Mackie has a tremendous crush on her and comes running anytime I bring her up. I think he would faint if he met her in purrson.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I’m sorry the kitties are off their food. Changes are not something kitties enjoy. Fortunately for us, they do adjust given time and your loving touch. Eat kitties!
Tell Tarifa and the others that I prefer bed lumps to boxers!
I’m late writing tonight but I will get back to the paintings and the stone floor story. I’m glad you like them. The floor actually helped me to recover. Lol

N NY cat man Yes. It’s good to have road service but they can get overwhelmed or make mistakes. Being prepared yourself is always the best answer. If you want something done right......
I’d like to get one of those mini chargers. Very cool! Unfortunately, we can’t carry all repair parts with us. Old cars were easy to work on but the cars now aren’t the same so without a way to do all the computerized stuff, many things can’t even be attempted. I like simple. Lol Give me a 64 any car!!

rubysmama rubysmama I’m glad you got help. Rush hour and freezing?!?!? No thanks. Rough combination. I love seeing snow but coming home today , even though I was cold, seeing my confused flowers and some remaining green was nice. It may not last all Winter but I do enjoy it. That said, come try my summer!! Have you ever tried breathing air filled with so much humidity it feels like you’re breathing water? Living in a sauna filled with mosquitos! Lol There’s always a trade off. Maybe we need to go to your house in Summer and mine in Winter?

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I’ve had tow bills before too. Serious money! You know a lot of auto insurance companies have roadside assistance now. Check your policy. Maybe!

M maggiedemi Be glad you have it. At least there is a good chance you’ll get help. The past two times I got poor service but I called headquarters this afternoon and pursued the issue long enough to get through to one person willing to address the problem. It may have corrected the root of the problem or may not but I am hopeful that next time may go better. I had many years of service without a problem too. I can’t avoid things that go wrong, only deal with them as they come up. I remember the days where if you broke down, you just got out and started walking until you found a pay phone or got back home. Lol I have walked in snow, rain and mud but I survived to tell the tale. Aggravating today because it was a computer glitch but my van is running again. At least the repair guy was competent and nice.

Okay. It’s time for some smiles. What happens when your kitties are mad because you didn’t get home on time?

They might look like you hurt their feelings....

They might look away....

They might appear disgusted....

Aggravated....

or they might give you that,” Where have YOU been!” Look.

They may not want to hear what you have to say for yourself.

And if they do listen, your excuse may be found unacceptable!

They are just too tired to keep up with your human antics.

Thank goodness for kitties! No matter what they do, they make us go Awww and then, they make us smile. Now I have to go. I am covered in kitties and BJ had trouble finding an empty spot on my lap so he is perched under my chin with his tail in my face! :barfgreen:
I’m thinking back to the day that Precious put his tail in Banjo’s face.

Yeah, your mosquito filled sauna doesn't sound very pleasant. But right now I wouldn't mind a bit of that humidity, as the furnace heat inside and the cold air outside is drying my skin and making my hands feel like sandpaper. :ohwell:

I think they must spray for mosquitos in town, because there are billions out here in the summer, but none in the town 30 minutes from here.

the cold air outside is drying my skin and making my hands feel like sandpaper.
Try putting lotion on your hands right before bed. They are all healed when you wake up after 8 hours.

*..."and we walked 5 miles through the snow to get to school every day. Even on CATurday and Sunday. And then 5 miles back. Even in summer." Yeah, my dad used to fix all his own cars before computerization made it too difficult.
And yeah, when you're late or you don't deliver, cats WILL let you know about it in no uncertain terms! Tarifa, for instance, gets a running (one-sided) conversation going that doesn't stop until the food is in front of her or the lap is prepared, with a warm, soft cat blanket, for her.:cutecat::zzzcat:
I don't have the vehicle, or the ex, any more, so no worries about towing.

I do that, but I must need a better lotion, because as soon as I wash my hands, they dry up again.
Agreed - it's an uphill battle! I think skin suppleness and elasticity is a thing of the past as we age. I was trying all the tricks - sleeping in gloves with lotion on, using only all-natural lotions, and still, the minute I washed my hands, they would dry up again. And I wash my hands a lot. So I gave up and ordered this lotion from Amazon upon recommendation and have had better success with it than any of the other lotions. At least in improving the feel and appearance of my hands between washes... ;)

In high altitude, dry, cold weather, it's pretty much a given. When we lived in the Mojave at 4,100 feet, I used to have to change water, scoop litter boxes, and feed in the barn; we had run in water up there so I'd have water to wash my hands, and no matter what I did, they were always cracked, bleeding and painful in cold weather.

I use only cruelty-free products and this one is unknown as to status, so I won't use it. California is banning cruel products -- we are going to push them out!

Love that Cali is banning cruel products! This is a Cali company, but I can’t find anything on their website that states cruelty-free. *If you ever happen to come across an answer, please do let me know! I can't find anything via online search, either.

I live in Glendale! Yeah, I googled it and there is no cruelty-free information/product statement, so I won't buy. Bath & Body Works, a cruelty-free company, has some excellent high-intensity moisture creams.Hand Care - Hand Cream and Lotion | Bath & Body Works

Sometimes I use body butter instead of lotion. I got this gift of one last year from Trader Joe's and it worked pretty well on my winter feet when I remembered to use it.

My main problem is that I'm not consistent enough using lotions and the like, I think.

I didn't know Bath & Body Works was a cruelty-free company. That definitely changes my opinion of them, and I will consider buying more products there.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 : have you used any of their hand creams?
Yes, I've loved and used their hand creams, soaps and shower gels, lip protectors, and EDTs since the company opened, as far as I know. I love their products!
