The wand toy inspired Wanda Hart to play hard. It’s a Wanda Wonder Wand! More like a kitten every day.

We were actually going to attack the cat pillow.

BJ and Precious look like a big furry heart in the first picture. Precious caught in the act of snuggling! The kitties all make progress at their own pace.

I was scrolling through and I noticed Felix was reading along as well. When I turned the computer camera on, he looked away. He thinks he looks weird in pictures but I kept telling him they look good and that he's a very handsome boy.

Tonight I caught something that seemed very timely. For anyone who has ever had a couple of kitties disagree, this shows the body language of kitties pretty well. It’s a happy ending so hang in there for our dose of smiles!

Because Mitsy tried to get Thrasher to share the chair by putting her tail in Thrasher’s face! Tail scent!
Then Thrasher got her by grabbing it! All bluff and fluff!

Banjo is right! It may have looked like they were about to have a real fight but it was all bluffing. Although ears were back, Thrasher grabbed Mitsy’s tail and Mitsy looked as though she would eat Thrasher, neither one would ever hurt the other. They love each other and are usually found snuggling together. Here’s the proof.

Moral of the story....don’t wiggle your tail in the face of someone named Thrasher. It’s just too much fun to resist grabbing a wiggly tail. Sharing a chair is much nicer than having a tail in your face.
All is well at the end of this tail!

When I adopted Ruby, I had no idea that most orange cats were male. I guess it was here at TCS that I learned that fact, however, it's hard to believe when there's so many orange female cats here!

I had always heard that calicoes were exclusively, or nearly so, female, but nothing about orange cats. We just accepted what came our way.

That last pic looks like a Striped Convention! The Chez Catbird Cat Room is looking very inviting and lovely. As for waving tails, I just love to see them. In the past when the furmily was larger, I would call it "a forest of cattails" when they were all weaving around me at meal times. It was such a joy seeing their joy and anticipation!
Yes, Elvis is a perfect bedmate. He joined me there this morning just as I was going to get up. Makes it VERY difficult to roll out of bed.

He is a MOST handsome boy, and his mama has a very pretty smile, might I add!

Well...ALL siblings have little spats, don't they Jcatbird ? And most of the time it's just a bit of noise and posturing. Then it's back to normal! We could learn SO much from our cats!

N NY cat man My cats find me too. I’ve always tried to keep openings available for when someone did find me. They need us the most. We’d like to see you orange boy too! I have one orange male now. Sherbie. Short for Orange Sherbet. That was a treat I loved as a child and he is a treat that I love now.

I have never had a male Calico but I have read that if you do find one, they cannot reproduce. Cat genetics can be very interesting to read about.

rubysmama I was surprised when I came here to find a lot of ginger girls. Wanda Heart is my first and I have had lots of gingers. I guess there are large numbers of people here from all over. I kind of wonder is there are more in some areas than others. It could make for an interesting study. More northern places than southern maybe? I would guess the gene pool is somewhat different from place to place although it is probably blending more all the time as humans move the kitties around.

Lari You do have a lot coming up! School year combined with two weddings! Wow! I know it will be a mad dash but filled with wonderful things. It’s going to be very exciting.

tarasgirl06 Striped convention! It was! The stripes are a very common genetic trait around here. I love all the cat conventions. White kitties are not common here but a few , mostly white, turn up. Orange stripes, black stripes, grey stripes silver, and brown/ gold stripes are everywhere. Tuxedo and black kitties are common colors grey or blue and then the Calicos. Tortoise shell falls after that. It’s a beautiful rainbow with Siamese, Tonkinese and others blending into the mix. Every time a kitty has had babies it was exciting to see them. I never had any idea of what to expect to find in the feral colony but each time ,they were all precious. Although I hope I am through finding new litters in the woods.
Elvis would make me want to stay in bed too! Lol That’s the best snuggling. Every time I lay down, a kitty joins me. I relaxed a minute today and closed my eyes for a minute. A kitty was on my lap immediately. I thought it would be Muffin since she is usually the first one to hop up but, I never know for sure. I could tell by touch it was another. Whistle got first dibs.

Mamanyt1953 Such a good point! We could learn so much from kitties. A sibling spat is over as quickly as it began. The love and devotion remains no matter what.


The kitty pool came back today! I put a blanket across it for snuggling. It has been gone for awhile and having it back caused quite a stir.

The kitties are still shifting places and taking turns in the pool. It’s as though an old friend has returned. They are all loving having the kitty pool back.
Whistle did decide to stick with Mom for now. It’s nice to have a snuggler.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings! I wonder what would happen if I did put a little bit of water in their pool? Precious might be more willing to share but somehow.... I don’t think the others would want it anymore. I better save that for the Bengal boys.

Just some cats. Others love the camera. Banjo is a very good example of a camera loving kitty. My Bengal boys do not like the camera. They will usually hide from it. I think it’s about having something pointed towards them if they are of a more nervous or feral nature. Like humans, some are just shy.

When I was growing up, my Mother told me about a breeder offering a large sum for a male Calico. Mother had a male when she was young named Joseph.( coat of many colors!) but she would never have sold him for any amount. He enjoyed the ladies but, no babies. Kitties are always jumping in my lap, only to turn their bums to my face so I get a clear view of the tail. Proud little flags that they wave! Mitsy kept putting her tail right in Thrashers face and it was just too tempting. Kind of like flipping a wand toy at a kitty but with a message attached. Mitsy was saying,” See me?” Thrasher let her know that she did! Not a real argument, more like an insult. Thrasher did grab, Mitsy did fold her ears back, meow and swat but no harm done. Even if I had not been there, it was only a disagreement. It would have ended the same way. I just smoothed ruffled fur eathers.
