We decided to change one of the cats morning wet meals to when my fiance gets up rather than when I do- a few hours later. This will make it so their wet and dry food in the morning are actually two meals that aren't right on top of each other.
It infuriates me to see old, sick pets dumped at shelters instead of taken mercifully to the vet so they don't suffer not only the disease the owner can't or won't spend money on to treat. Her suffering is two fold. Sick and abandoned and obviously very loved at some point in her life.
@Artiemom my heart aches for you. I don't know if I could foster either. I only hope she gets to rest in a relaxing home and gets sent on her way before she suffers too much. So hard to watch them sick and ill knowing that not much else can do to fix the situation. I only hope she finds some peace before she leaves. I am surprised they didn't send her on her way at this point. Poor girl. I am not looking forward to my old girl getting sick from her heart disease-there's nothing we can do as she isn't in heart failure yet. I haven't decided what I would do. She is unable to be medicated. I would probably opt to send her on her way. She is just so independent and doesn't want help with anything. Hopefully it doesn't make an appearance for awhile. Last September we got an ultrasound on her heart and organs. the organs and belly are fine-no thickening of intestines despite her vomiting and constipation. But one of the chambers of the heart was slightly enlarged but not enough yet to medicate-so we are on a watch and wait. Because of this we have a note in her file to not give pred. They told me we can't treat the issues until she goes into heart failure which to me sounds cruel but that's the way it goes. If I could get transdermal or injection meds-that would be the only way to treat her. So far she still plays/eats/purrs/harasses the neighbors cats. She is still full of ___ and vinegar so to speak. Hisses at honeybee although yesterday She licked Honeybee's foot when I held it in front of her face but we were outside. Sometimes they get along-other times they chase each other.

Thank you for the information. I'm going to copy the pictures, print them, and put the artist's url on the back of the prints. When I take Hekitty in for microchipping in August, I'll take it to them. It is such a lovely idea.My cat's plaque is easy to spot - it's the ony one with stickers all over itI didn't put the stickers on, though. I was a member of the FDMB board at the time and a local member put the stickers on while she was there with her cat. The stickers are still there 4 years later, although one was starting to fall off the last time I took the cats in for a check up so I took it home and put it on my cat's urn.
I agree
It is such a lovely idea.
Happy Birthday!I keep getting extra snuggles from Ivy, Autumn and even Munchkin. It must be there birthday present for me. Couldn't ask for anything better from them.
So you got the Kayak! i've always wanted to try one, but it's been canoes for me all the way. Are you going to take it on white water at all? EDIT: I have messed up my quotes here - it is @Handsome Kitty who has the new kayak, I think?
Nice kayak! and cat! a cat in a kayak...ha ha!
The thought of fostering Sunshine, did cross my mind. I am not sure how my guy would deal with another cat at this point. My guy is 12 yrs old and has IBD.
Also the thought of food for 2 cats... I know the foster would be supplied by humane society, but knowing me, I would feed her better food and litter. I cannot afford that. Also, not sure of how my landlord will be with 2 cats....
And then there is the emotional factor. Will I be able to handle my guy, who is so stubborn on food and is on a special diet with several mediations a day...and then take on another sick cat..Especially one who will not be around for very long...
I would be spending a lot of time in Vets offices and medicating cats...all day long...and cleaning litter boxes...
seriously....
Also, right now Sunshine has a lot of diarrhea and dandruff. She also had a yeast infection in both eyes...poor baby.. That needs to be looked into also.. I cannot take the chance that she has anything that my guy would get...

I'm going to dig through my drawer of discards and look for a mouse. Yes the undersized keyboards are horrible. But your fingers will adapt.
@Rhondalee
OK,,,so, I'm back on Computersaurus Rex, but only because I got frustrated with the itty bitty keyboard and the not-a-mouse, This morning a very nice lady at Acer tech support actually listened to me when I told her I had never used a laptop, and while I was certain that the answer to my question was in the manual, I couldn't get online to GET to the manual, and that I've been, apparently, piggybacking off of my neighbors. She had me restart both Punk and the router. Immediately, I connected under my login name! By the time we managed that, I was totally frustrated, so I switched back. I cut my nails off short, so at least they won't be skidding on those flat keys. Tomorrow I am determined to use the Punk for most everything!
Sorry to hear that your insomnia is back; that's incredibly hard to deal with. Um, "kibble maze"?
I'm so glad to hear Roger is coming home.I bet he'll be delighted to finally be "free" again.
It's 3:45 am here and my insomnia is back. My apartment is completely silent except these little crunching sounds coming from the kibble maze in the next room. There's something wonderfully peaceful about such quiet little night noises.
White water. I'm not a coward but I promise me and a kayak in white water would equal yellow water.
@Rhondalee Happy Birthday!! What kind of cake or birthday treat will you have?
@Margd @kittens mom The closest whitewater is 3 hours away. I will just play with it in the pool. Our other kayaks are too long, 12 or 14 feet, this one is only 8 feet long. The pool is 20 x 40 feet. There are a couple of lakes nearby that I can take it too as well.
@Tallyollyopia What a cliff hanger!
