First your avocados that you have are not dangerous. This issue is one of the inspectors being threatened, not the food being dangerous in itself. Details below

Although the issue is not specifically food safety, the import of avocados from a state in Mexico has been banned because of a safety threat against a U.S. official.

Europe - Portugal -

Portuguese authorities have confiscated 426,000 eggs and 10 tons of meat in different operations regarding food safety and security issues.
The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) seized more than 426,000 eggs with an estimated value of around €33,600 ($38,000) during an inspection action aimed at egg grading and packing centers, in the municipality of Leiria. The operation, in late January, followed an inspection by a local unit.
Officials stepped in alleging eggs were being placed on the market without the proper identification mark and with an absence of mandatory information on packages, such as the date of dispatch and quantity and a lack of daily records on the method of rearing.

US - pregnant people and people who support birds and wildlife will be interested in following this. I'll provide information as I receive it.

Injunction sought against EPA regarding ban on farm pesticide chlorpyrifos

"Chlorpyrifos is one of the most-used and most-lethal insecticides in the United States. It's been killing birds and poisoning American families for the past half-century. It is widely applied in the production of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other conventionally grown crops, including many kid favorites like apples, peaches, grapes, and strawberries. Human exposure takes place when people consume contaminated food and drinking water, touch treated surfaces, or breathe the air near treated fields."

So who is it that's killing millions of birds?

A number of European countries have again expressed concerns about how the ethylene oxide contamination incidents are being handled.
Several nations highlighted the high burden of required action as more products are found to be contaminated at low levels from different origins and described it as “no longer manageable.”

in case the above makes you interested in the way food safety is treated in Europe and US you might want to scan the possible articles here.

Powdered infant formula made by Abbott Nutrition linked to Cronobacter and Salmonella illnesses.

The complaints include three reports of Cronobacter illness and one report of Salmonella Newport illness in infants.
All four infants were hospitalized, and one of the infected infants has died. The death may not be solely attributable to the Cronobacter infection.
The FDA has been conducting an inspection of the facility and has found Cronobacter in several environmental samples. In addition, the company’s internal records include findings of environmental contamination with Cronobacter.

The FDA is advising consumers not to use Similac, Alimentum or EleCare powdered infant formulas if:

  • the first two digits of the code are 22 through 37 and
  • the code on the container contains K8, SH, or Z2, and
  • the expiration date is 4-1-2022 (APR 2022) or later.
