First baby meats are a paste. Gerber and Beechnut have one that most of us have used. the other option is to ask for prescription for Hill A/D urgent care. If he isn't eating on his own she should have given you a syringe and some instructions. I hate that I know these things but they are worthless unless shared.
Now I am seriously scratching my head! I am in a state of shock! Why would a veterinarian tell me to not feed him baby food when clearly others tell their patients to?

That is ridiculous, every rescue I know of uses chicken or turkey baby food!

Dr. Kate Hurley who is a close acquaintance of mine from UC Davis veterinary medical teaching school, is known worldwide for her expertise on cats, advises this all the time!

Correct, you have the right to all of the medical records including the x-ray panel to be forwarded to any other vet you choose.

If she is not willing to refer you on, then it will be up to you to find the right one and have them transferred.

I am bothered by your comment that he is dying in fro=nt of your eyes. If you truly believe this then he is beyond hope, and should be spared suffering.

But I think that might have been just feeling discouraged, and with her lack of cooperation I now think your only alternative is to find another vet who is willing to treat him.

Let me also add that yes, she should have given you A/D canned to feed him, I am not one to sit back and allow a vet to neglect my cat's needs, this comes from knowing asmuc as I do, so listen to us here trying to tell you, your vet is being negligent with him, very much so.

You nor he deserve this, it is not her place to tell you there are no options, I can't believe she has not even addressed his lack of eating.

OK. I am not giving up! I never did. that's why I came here. I am balancing research and time with Mukki. I am tired and he is under the bed again, so I am going to get off here for now. My shoulder is hurting from typing, using my phone. I hope she is wrong. I will be so heartbroken and devastated. Not to mention lost if something happens to him. I figured with his health before all this I had about four more years with him. Now according my veterinarian and his health declining is seeming less likely. thank you for not judging me. Honestly, I never ever ever put that one piece of personal information out there.

I am glad that I found great people who will FINALLY help me. thank you all so much! I'm not leaving I'm going to keep updating. I just have to go for the night. It's a feeling, and I see he is tired. He barely opens his eyes. Definitely not all of the way these day . :-( :-( :-( Plus, he is so thin and frail. I still have hope. I have faith. God gave him to me, so I must have done something right. I did not rescue him, he rescued me.

Yes, definitly get food into him. I am very surprised at your vet. She should know there are baby foods w/o thise seasonings to use. Plus, at the very least, yes, she should have sent you home w/ some critical care food to syringe feed! I would find another vet!

I al also very shocked with your VEt..to just discharge you and your baby.. that is unheard of...not discussing treatments, future developments, etc...

Is another Vet really completely out of the question? It seems as if you need to take your baby to a vet, asap....

Baby food is usually the go to...unless there is a known allergy to poultry.. Can you try some mashed up tuna? In the blender or mini-food processor...

no one is going to judge you.. we are all here to help you...

I am happy to see so many people jumping in here with good advice and support. How is Mukkia today? Were you able to get him to eat a little?

Oh No.... Banfield, does not have a good reputation....are there any other private Vets around? Or an emergency Vet?

Expensive, I know but well worth it....

I know Banfield gets a lot of bashing on this site but I think it has to do with the vet. I take my pets to banfield in my area and we have really good caring vets. The vet who was seeing my feral cats was so good with them. She no longer works there but now I have another caring vet and yes it's at the same Banfield.

If this is where you are taking your cat by all means find another vet that will help you treat your kitty.

Not really the consult with a specialist at VCA was 120 and change. And that was after the original ER vet waived their fee and applied it to the consultation. I have heard nothing good about Banfield. Ever.

Uuuhhm no, that conversation with Ban Field over the phone did not go well at all. At first, they didn't want to tell me anything. then I made it clear that I was only asking general questions. Not specific to any animal. They said, they use prednisone to treat lymphoma as well. So, I'm not taking him there. I called another office that is open a half a day today, and she agreed with all of us about the prednisone and getting him an accurate diagnostic test. The doctor that she recommends will not be be in the office until Tuesday. so, I will take him in Tuesday morning. The good news. . . I GOT HIM TO EAT A LITTLE LIVER! :-D I went to Walmart and got some early this morning. I'm doing a happy dance! I have a little bit more hope now! :-)

Okay, so now you have heard of one Banfield that has been good with people and their pets. Our only Feline vet clinic is a place I wouldn't recommend in our area.

I'm glad you are looking for a new vet that will listen to you and treat Mukkia. I wish nothing but the best for you and Mukkia.

If he ate some liver then I think he will very likely eat some chicken or turkey baby food, warm it up a bit, makes the smell pretty irresistible.

He must continue to eat. He has gone too long on hardly anything.

Most of the reviews from people I know are no good regarding Banfield, every once in a while someone gives a good review of their experience, which I agree is likely that particular vet, so I never recommend them.

Treatment for lymphoma is usually pred and leukeran.

There are alternatives to the pred though.

Truthfully I had never heard a good thing about the VCA until I started using the one I'm at. I'm sure some are crap. Finding a good vet is as hard as finding a good doctor.
