Thanks all. He had blood work earlier this year. Normal.

    At Wit's End

My fixed, 8 y/o male has always been somewhat needy. But the last 18 months, he's also become pestering and very vocal. He often has trouble settling down in the evening and instead pesters me when I'm trying to wind down myself. I'll try to play with him, but he often shows little enthusiasm...

    Itchy Little Bumps

Mostly clustered at the low back by base of tail. He doesn't seem to scratch at it much though. But it's obviously either from fleas or food. He is current with his Frontline...so I'm thinking it is the Friskies Beef and Salmon Fillets wet food that I recently started giving him regularly. In...

Advice on Dental Treatment for my Middle Aged Buddies

Hi, I have a 7 and 8 year old. Both healthy males. One has some obvious plaque and occasional sensitivity. The other, nothing obvious. I don't brush their teeth because they won't let me, so I was thinking of having the vet and techs give them a good proper deep clean. Is this advisable? Are...

7 Year Old Neutered Male is a Pesterer

When I first got him, it was clear that he loved being outside and he tried to escape all the time. So "The Beast" was already ravenous, unfortunately. When I first let him out at a new home, he was so happy and grateful. Cats do express their gratitude. When the frigid temps set in, he made no...

7 Year Old Neutered Male is a Pesterer

Oscar is a real bundle. He's a big and muscular mackerel tabby, massive paws and claws, massive fangs, huge eyes, beautiful coat and a unique personality. He's genuinely sweet natured, loyal, cuddly when he's willing to be, a bit aloof at times, a bit shy at times, doesn't like change, loves...

My Orange Half-Coon with a Loving Nature and Intense Curiosity is Feeling Unwell Today

He looked at his mouth pretty thoroughly. Said he didn't see any signs of inflammation. Blood pressure and heart rate normal. Nothing in ears. No mucous discharge. No blood tests. I suppose that might have to be the next step if this continues much longer. He did sneeze again this morning...

My Orange Half-Coon with a Loving Nature and Intense Curiosity is Feeling Unwell Today

He's also been indoors full time...and I might just make it a permanent thing. I love him and would be devastated if he got hurt or killed. You shoudve seen him tuck his head into me at the vet cuz he was so scared. Such a precious little guy.

My Orange Half-Coon with a Loving Nature and Intense Curiosity is Feeling Unwell Today

So I brought him to the vet, who was unable to determine anything at all other than he's otherwise perfectly healthy. Day 6 of this and he still has the behavior. Starting to think it's an allergy, but there's nothing new or different in his food. Guess I'll just keep monitoring it.

My Orange Half-Coon with a Loving Nature and Intense Curiosity is Feeling Unwell Today

Thank you, he'd stand at the door and cry, follow me and cry and never let up. I keep him fully indoors from October-March and he only goes outside between 8AM-6PM, and not in bad weather. He doesn't wander and likes to hunt things in the tall vegetation next to the house. I assumed it was an...

My Orange Half-Coon with a Loving Nature and Intense Curiosity is Feeling Unwell Today

Hi there, it's been awhile. I hope you and your furry confidants are all happy and healthy. My 2 kitties are my best buds. Today I noticed that Reginald started shaking his head and licking his mouth as if he was irritated by something, or in pain. He will occasionally moisten his paw and then...

    Unsettling New Behavior

Thanks. He also shakes his head from side to side really fast. Frustrating. But he's rolling around playing with his brother again today. Eats normally. Cuddles normally. Hope the vet has the answer without soaking me.

    Unsettling New Behavior

He is about 5. Goes outside in the yard during the day. Hunts mice and snakes. I treat him with flea and tick stuff. Recently changed it to Hartz. Coyld it be a reaction to Hartz? I also saw him possibly be bitten or stung by something in the house right around the time this started. He has...

    Unsettling New Behavior

Yes, I know something is wrong. He's got a vet appointment coming up. What I'm looking for is ideas of what it might be.

    Unsettling New Behavior

Hi all, Reggie recently started acting weird. It seems to happen once ir twice every few days. He seems agitated and in discomfort. He will seemingly try to get my attention or alert me by jumping up on a desk or table or making a little cry. He will obsessively lick his front paws. I don't...

    Strong Willed Whiner

I love Reggie in a deep way, but he's driving me to the edge. He's a very vocal fixed 2 year old who eats regularly, has fresh water and litter, goes outside every day, gets exercise and plenty of attention and affection. He also has a live-in cat buddy in Oscar who he gets along with. When I...

    I Have 2 Rambunctious Boys

18 months and and 60 months. Both apartment cats since I got them in January. Northern New England, so they had no desire to go out until about 3 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago, I started letting them out, at first with me as their escort, now I let them do their thing w/o me. Both fixed, and both...
