It definitely looks like an echeveria. I think Kalanchoe's tend to branch out more like peperomias and jade plants. Echeverias tend to only have a center growth point and continue to get taller and taller. :) Regardless, it's a very beautiful plant!

In my experience, the "street" never really leaves the rescue cats. I've met cats that grow up in houses from birth and are better tempered but a cat is a cat to me so I love them all the same.
