Outside of the CatGenie (which I can't do in my apartment), are there any options for a reusable catlitter? Or has anyone attempted a DIY for this?
I get the most eco-friendly litter I can and it works great but it's expensive and not sold in that many places, it's a hassle.
I'm picturing...
I have a 1 year old girl who about 50% of the time gets litter all on her back legs after peeing. I've watched her and she sits kind of low, but it looks like it's somehow happening when she's covering her pee.
She has a very large litterbox so space isn't an issue.
Does anyone have any litter...
There's a lot of reviews online from vets and owners but simply them promoting the 'flopping' so that they can accomplish tasks on their cats. I'm not looking for something like that.
Very curious to know the following in your reviews especially:
1- what behaviour(s) were you trying to get...
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good catlitter that doesn't create dust. I have asthma and cleaning the litter box always stirs up so much dust that I can't breathe right and am coughing for a while afterwards. It doesn't help that her litterbox is in my bedroom because I live in a...
I was just going to search on this topic. I used to use natures miracle jumbo boxes but they are discontinued and everything else has looked too small and/or poorly made. I am considering trying the harloon brand on Amazon but cannot find many reviews. These look like the best option.
Harloon...
Well they are just 15 weeks. They might not be fully potty trained. 9 weeks is too early to be leaving mom; it should have been 12 weeks. So even if he started of decent at it, the lesson might not have been solidified.
Many of the things you have listed him using seem pretty litter box...
For those who have used grass seed litter, have you experienced problems with your cats eating it? I was ready to buy some Smart Cat but then read the reviews and got cold feet. Several reported that their cats were eating it - and a lot of it. Also more than one report of finding bugs in it...
I always thought that kittens could leave mum from 8 weeks, otherwise I definitely would have left them there for longer. He's much clingier than his sister. His sister is affectionate but doesn't get so upset if she doesn't get it.
He's used litter box adjacent items but also soft surfaces...
Honestly, even the naturals concern me. Why I am still using Dr Elsey's Respiratory Relief despite occasionally getting one with more dust. The potential of pesticides. I asked a couple companies about pesticides. Their reply was they do not tell the farmers how to grow the product.Yikes! The...
@Jojo&Tutu As I started to have mobility issues and chronic fatigue I actually switched to Okocat paper. It's non-clumping.
Scrubbing all the clumping stuff off the box all the time wasn't working anymore.
I find Okocat is fast absorbing so even when Nobel peed a LOT it wouldn't puddle and it...
Is this something the cat has always done? If so, there's probably no way to break the habit now. And since the cat was just at the vet, it doesn't sound like a health issue.
There are litter mats that might help some. Here's a link from the NYT with reviews of some.
The Best CatLitter Mat...
My boy has been using Bentonite Clay Litter for about 7years and it is very dusty and heavy and the litter and dust tracks all over the house. I've switched him to Tofu CatLitter. I have to put on a mask when I clear his litterbox and with the Tofu CatLitter, it was much much much less dust. I...
It really is. ❣️

Theres also a nice thread on different litters here if you want to look at what will work in your home: Litterreviews I'd try one in a spare...
I remember this transition now after seeing pics !! It was happening while I was trying to transition to the oki.
It’s unfortunate that chewys only has several options for tofu and they do not have good reviews.
UPDATE: I must say, things are progressing very well. Just to clarify,...the video showed Dinah tolerating me walking right past her on the bed. But about after 8 seconds of me leaving the room, she jumped off of the bed and hid under it again. A little "delayed reaction", perhaps :crackup...
Hi everyone
My cat Whiskey is a 9yo neutered male. I’ve had him for 7.5years. He’s had asthma when I adopted him that spontaneously resolved about 3 years ago. He was on flovent for asthma from 2016 to 2020. No meds since then except occasional flee preventatives. He is an indoor cat but we...
So over the past few months I have tried several litters. Thought I’d share my thoughts on them in case anyone cares haha. I have 4 cats and these were used in multiple litter boxes.
pretty litter
Pros: loved the small grains, easy to scoop
Cons: stunk within a week even with daily...
Has anyone used cat pheromone sprays or diffusers with success? I found a brand on Amazon that has good reviews. I'm wondering if that would help Elwood feel more calm indoors...and if that might help him want to use the litter box? I set up the litter box this morning before I brought him in...
