...one point or another, so I guess it's the fleas' turn now :ohwell:
So I'm wondering, what is your experience/recommendations regarding Diatomaceous earth? I have the food grade.
My concerns are that even though "the internet" says it's non-toxic, there are lots of reputable sources and vets...
Has anyone used Diatomaceous Earth ON your cats to control fleas? I would like to try this, but I am unsure about it. I need to treat four cats, and just can't afford to buy Advantage, etc. Any suggestions?
Hey guys,
Has anyone ever used DE for fleas before with great results? Does anyone have any information on DE in general with regard to treating fleas or worms?
Thanks in advance.
Hi have a cricket infestation and was wondering if Diatomaceous earth food grade is safe for pets if i use it around the garden ?
Has anyone used this before ?
10 months ago, in something that might be called a panic attack because I had many silver fish in my home, I covered my whole house in diatomaceous earth. Especially behind all the baseboards and basically around the all edges of every room. I did it after watching a YouTube video where they...
...so we've been fighting a battle with constant vacuuming, steam mopping, flea combing and what have you. i finally picked up a bag of diatomaceous earth, and yesterday started blowing it into cracks in the floor, under desks and bookcases and so on, and we put a little on the cat.
i also...
Thought I'd share my recent experiences with it as I've several friends who had thought about it but were unsure and were anxious to hear how what my experiences with it were.
I bought DE several years ago with intention of taking in internally and doing same for my cats. I started...
Does Diatomaceous Earth food grade help control ear mites in cats at all? I am feeding it to ferals who seem to be passing the ear mites back to a couple of cats we have tamed. I cannot treat the other ferals because I cannot handle them. I am wonderning if I am going to have to another route...
I was wondering if those who use diatomaceous earth for fleas give me some advice also (Capstar)....Where is the cheapest place to get food grade, how much do you add, what is the name and everything else. I TNR ferals (just started) and I adopted 2 feral kittens....they are softening but still...
...and when she did they were too far gone, gums and tongue completely bloodless. So I googled everything I could about newborn kittens and diatomaceous earth. Seems that lots of folks have had success with it so I dusted them tonite. Will keep you posted as to developments or issues. Keep your...
One of my ferals has quite the pot belly, I bet he has worms. We put out kibble and canned for him but how much of it he eats we can't be sure, he doesn't eat in our presence. And other ferals we see even less of than him also come to eat.
He's neutered but the Vet suggested there wasn't much...
...want, but no pets of children there) before vacuuming. And then you can let pets back in. What would be the recommended procedure for diatomaceous earth? I understand it can sit somewhere for literally millions of years without going bad, but I get concerned about a cat breathing that dust...
Hi all.
Has anyone used DE to kill ear mites? Or does anyone have any knowledge or thoughts about the safety and/or efficacy of putting DE inside of a cat's (or, well, 9-month old kitten's) ears? It just came up in a search and while I'm aware of many uses for DE, I had not come across it being...
How much do you give each cat? We've got multiple cats and it says you can mix it with food but how do we give them the DE to make sure they get their dosage? We're afraid if we just mix it in with the food then one would get too much, not enough, etc. Thanks!!
Has anyone here had experience using human grade DE? I bought a bag of some from a local small independent pet store, due to the sales clerk swearing by it. I just wanted to get some feedback.
1) Apparently it can be used to rid of all manner of worms, with the exception of heart worm I think...
I recently bought a container of diatomaceous earth, labelled food grade, from my local farming store, to give to my cats to treat for fleas and worms, as the stuff from the vet is too expensive, or one cat always spits the pills out, and giving the worms back to the other cats. I have a few...
...The vet gave me mousse to rub on her and comb through (which didn't go well) and I'm not seeing results. He told me not to worry, but I just want them gone. It's gross. It's been over 24 hours and there's still live adults jumping off of her. Anyone have luck with food grade diatomaceous earth?
I used Diatomaceous Earth (Food Grade) to fight with flea. I know I suppose to sprinkle it on my carpet, but some area, there were a little more than sprinkle. Anyway, I was able to vacuum those successfully but now, I am bit worried if my cat is going to be ok with it?
When I was vacuuming my...
Aside from the environmental problems, is this kind of litter safe for cats? The kind I use now is WC CAT made with just diatomaceous earth and montmorillite only in Kamloops, BC, Canada. I've used this type of litter all my life, well for my cats!, and have apparently had no problems. My cat...
