The Positive Thread 2020

Little luxuries. I went to the grocery store today, something I haven’t done in the last few weeks, except to quickly grab an item I needed and head out the door. But today, I took a stroll down every aisle, stopped to check out all the fruit and produce and relished that I had as much time as I wanted to do it. I picked up a few things for dinners I have been craving and of course some treats as well.

So thankful that my area of the county was spared the tornadoes that ripped thru yesterday and last night.
We were blessed this morning in a different way...had the pleasure of watching 2 pileated woodpeckers...yes
2 of them! for about half an hour on my 2 maple trees.I suspect they were a pair.Glorious indeed!

I love doing that. Last time I was in town, I spent 6 hours grocery shopping.

My positive for today is that little Pomeranian puppy came back and visited me this morning! This time his owner came looking for him, so I know where he lives now. I was so happy to see him & that he's okay, since after I called the dog warden last time, I didn't know what happened to him.

There are a few white clouds in the west that are sure to be ringed with gold and bright glowing reds and purples so I'm heading out for a walk to take in the absolute splendor! My spouse will be listening to beautiful Cat meowing very loudly until I return.

I just finished grinding and freezing about 25 lbs. of chicken, pork, and turkey that will eventually be made into cat food. Whew! Tired now.

Tobermory Are your arms sore today from the grinding? 25 pounds for kitties is a lot!

M maggiedemi Ha!! No, the fish didn't affect anything in my handbag but it could've as it's
cotton quilted. Nicole is a handbag junkie, especially Vera Bradley brand. She's given
me at least 6 or 7. I sold one on Facebook marketplace, ha!! She told me on Friday that
she has another bag of them and she'll give me more. I wish she'd give up the beautiful
Michael Kors she's using now. I had to wash a few of them because I have a habit of
keeping a chocolate bar in them and then they melt. If I had forgotten to put the cod in
the frig it would've smelled sooo bad!!

Hope it's nice today. We are having high winds but they are dying down, nothing like the areas
that were hit by the tornadoes. I hope everyone here is safe and sound. Starting on some smalls
soon, then throws. I'm going to make cocoa soon as I've had enough tea. I have some good DVDs
and will start on the January book of the month, The Mountain Between Us. M maggiedemi you

that were hit by the tornadoes. I hope everyone here is safe and sound. Starting on some smalls
soon, then throws. I'm going to make cocoa soon as I've had enough tea. I have some good DVDs
and will start on the January book of the month, The Mountain Between Us. M maggiedemi you

It's going to be a beautiful 58 degrees today and sunny, so the windows are open and all three cats are happily in the sill. I'm enjoying the crisp air coming in while curled in a blanket on the couch as it is still in the low 40's. The wonderful, relaxing bird noises and light rustling of the wind is coming through the windows.

Isabelle may have been playing with Katrina last night! Isabelle was running around and Katrina was following her! Isabelle used to hiss at the kittens right away if they ran after her when she was hyper (neither have never tried to pounce her that I've seen, they just run after her at a distance). But Isabelle went a couple times back and forth before a hiss was heard! It also looked like Isabelle was hiding in a box/other object and pawing playfully at Katrina when she walked by.

Katrina made me smile yesterday as she was in my lap with Isabelle laying against my legs. Katrina extended her arm towards Isabelle and lightly touched Isabelle on the head, purposefully. Katrina retracts her arm when Isabelle opens her eyes and looks at her. They stare at each other and both go back to sleep, haha. Katrina was like, I know you get cranky Isabelle, but just wanted to say hi!

Doing it with a manual grinder would have really done me in! No, I have an electric grinder, but it still took most of the afternoon to chunk the meat before grinding, grind it, portion it into freezer bags, and then do clean up. And I also spent time after that turning some of it into cat food—about a week’s worth. But that amount of ground meat will last the girls more than a month once it’s made into food so that’s a BIG positive!

I did not do any house cleaning as planned so, yes, I had a very nice relaxing day - did some paperwork, watched a little tv and spent too much time talking on the phone with one of my daughters, a neighbor down the block and cooking/baking.

My positive for today is that we're meeting good friends for dinner at an Italian restaurant, their choice but we like it too.

Mia6 , while shopping I picked up toffee glazed pecans, ginger cookies and a fresh pineapple as treats. And I also got the pork shoulder roast that I have been looking for. I have a recipe to roast it in garlic, fennel and white wine that I have been wanting to try.

My positive for the day is that I had a 8:00 am to noon window for the plumbers arrival and he showed up right at 8:00!

They do? I didn't know that. She sleeps sooo deeply and the sounds are adorable. She must be dreaming about a boy?
A friend came yesterday. He is a ginger cat and only has one eye. He is very sturdy but not fat. He stops by the back
yard a few times a week. I would like to pet him but if I attempt to approach him he runs.

Toffee glazed Pecans????? Where'd you get those? What brand? That sounds so good! I just picked up some toffee "hot choco," which is just toffee flavored. Yum yum.

How wonderful the plumber came at the earliest time!
