@walli If Muffin took off her tuxedo, I guess she’d be a Ginger!

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Tarifa is do besutiful. Her expression there reminds me a bit of Muffin when she is in her favorite spot. Mugging is a reall snuggler.
Your Carpenter ants didn’t sting? They must have been very happy ants. The ones here do. It’s quite painful. My neighbor found that out last night. :fear:I warned him to be gentle. I don’t think he will disturb them again. They were just defending their home. Today he was much more careful! We worked to get things functioning better. Air was in all the lines but the ants did move after the nest was exposed. I wonder where they went...?

I love the giant bear! I know that is one of your bear necessities!

rubysmama rubysmama I warned the kitties not to blow the ants your way. Just the heat. ;)
Deja vu for sure! I hope they just moved out to the woods this time. I put shallow pans of water along a path that leads that way. :crossfingers: I also put a pile of the boards we removed from around the pump. It will be interesting to see if that works. I’ll keep the boards damp to try and attract them that way!

After a day of getting things back in ofder with the water, I checked up on some of the inhabitants of the property. I should know better. Tonight the smile comes from a new friend.

After working on the well, I went to put fresh water in the kitty pools I had put outside for the wildlife. I found new baby frogs!

Later that night I got “the look” from Banjo. :kitty:

She kept looking at the back door......
A25B12B7-9545-4EBC-940B-65FAC7BA3047.jpeg

And then looking at me.
1F72B5AC-B803-4D36-B098-7BBFAB29B52D.jpeg

She came in closer and had this insistent look on her face. So..... I left my supper to go check the door.
E29618D8-B248-474A-908B-F100C954FE81.jpeg

Froggie was waiting for us. No real surprise there but....
F2527A0B-F8F1-4DC1-90D4-186549BC1244.jpeg

He suddendly became airborne! A flying
Froggie.

Leaving is unusual. However, he leaped to show us something.

I found a new face waiting for me. Lol

The tiniest baby I have gotten a photo of thus far.

Banjo meowed to be picked up to meet the baby. Awwww! Mom look! It’s baby Froggie!!
260CD1C4-5EF6-46C0-ADBF-8509B53EBF11.jpeg

She’s so little Mom!
0166423F-B466-4398-A79A-3159250A71FA.jpeg

Hello baby! I’m your auntie Banjo!
767BB554-1D18-4D00-BA6E-67B0FE29E827.jpeg

I don’t know if Froggie brought the baby for Banjo to meet or if it just followed me home today but Banjo was enchanted. She kept looking back and forth at Froggie and the baby.
25A521AB-E2AE-421B-8093-96A12D912EE2.jpeg

The family is growing by leaps and bounds!
A691E42E-EDF8-4642-977A-EDDB8C8D82EB.jpeg

I went outside to get a closer look. Froggie stayed nearby but the baby came inside! Eeeek! No baby! Cats everywhere!
8FCAE9E2-B9AF-44B8-9D80-3ABBCA6502BB.jpeg

I scrambled to catch the baby and put her back out but in the meantime....
Ukelele, who had obviously heard from Froggie about the cool cat room, joined us inside.
39860FC8-2E4A-4C07-9DB3-A201766CDCEC.jpeg

Fortunately Froggie had also told her that I am a friendly human.
F96425A5-9DE3-4AD0-A837-2659B8C3CD8A.jpeg

She came right to me....
0ECA3DC8-8F83-4B62-9FFF-39D3EA3A272B.jpeg

And enjoyed the visit.
584A118E-0AF2-481C-8254-6518F2DB6331.jpeg

Ukelele hoped onto my shoulder before I put her back beside Froggie and the baby. They all took a place on the glass to wish everyone a good night.
Froggie...

Baby....

and Ukelele....
66130AE7-B53B-4D2C-B4FB-0938B50AD6F0.jpeg

This whole thing of Banjo always coming to get me to follow her to the door and the timing of me having worked on the well today made a thought pop into my head. The old TV series about the dog Lassie and the quote,” What is it Lassie? Timmy’s in the well?” Lassie was always saving Timmy or kittens or some other creature. I guess the new baby should either be named Timmy or Lassie.... or Well......? :flail:Names anyone?

Have a toadally good night everyone!

The unfolding story of the Froggie Family is just so magical! And Banjo obviously agrees! When we are kind and gentle and inclusive, those who are most sentient and sensitive know it and appreciate it. I was watching the continuing story of Steve Irwin's family and friends last night, and they know all about that. What wonderful people they are!
Yes, Polar Bear is very comforting to cats and of course, reminds me of Mom every time I go in there.
The carpenter ants never came near us -- they just did their ant thing in their homes, and we did not bother them. The fire ants, though, were another story! :fireblob::running::shocked:

I'm not sure about frogs' names, as I've never met one, so I don't know about their personalities. Cats will make their names known to those of us who love them. Frogs may, as well.

Lol The butterflies like wet sand so I soak that too.
If you REEEEEEEALY want to make the butterflies happy, pour some stale beer over a few nice-sized rocks. They LOVE that. I have a friend who has a butterfly garden. SHE doesn't drink beer, but she buys it for her butterflies. They FLOCK to it!

It’s nice and cool this morning! Yay! It looks like posting is going well too!!:bunnydance:
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! :heartshape:

rubysmama rubysmama and tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I don’t know the gender of the frogs except Froggie and I’m afraid that if I ask them I’ll croak! :flail:

I laughed at the list of names. Lollipops! They were all cute. Ferdinand makes me think of the story about Ferdinand the bull. If the baby was a bull frog that would totally be it! I’ll have to see if the baby responds to any of the names. If it comes when I call..... I’m really going to laugh. Although........ Froggie comes when Banjo calls. Maybe I need to ask Banjo. :D I named the other babies after musical instruments. Ukelele is kind of after Banjo. Zither just came to me. Lol I know males have s vocal sac under their neck and their little hands are slightly different. Their ears are also smaller than their eyes while a female has ears larger than tbeir eyes. It’s really hard to be very sure until they reach maturity but smoother skin could indicate female so I am thinking Ukelele is female. I haven’t gotten up too close to Zither yet. Baby is so little, it’s hard to tell much yet. There are lots of other frogs here but they aren’t as social as the ones that have made friends with Banjo. Lol Feral frogs.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Funny you should mention ghosts. The thread I posted about my problems with the site jumping had a mention of ghosts! Lol It is the right month for that.

Wobbling butterflies! I may have to try that. My neighbors will find that interesting if they spot me pouring beer in the yard. I would have to travel a fair distance to buy any though. The laws here forbid the sale of any alcohol drink near and Church or school. I have a school near and a great many Churches. I wonder what ingredient the butterflies like. Or do they just want to fly high? :flail::bluebutterfly: If the frogs liked it I would guess it’s because of the hops! I know that when I put sulphur out they like that. I have some amazing photographs of Swallowtails drinking from the sand here after a rain.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 :butterfly: Mike!

I love "Ferd" for a frog. Short for Ferdinand. There's just something about it.
And there are many, many variations on those instruments throughout Asia and Africa. But somehow I don't necessarily equate them with frogs.
What they call robins here used to eat our pyracantha berries and get drunk and wobbly.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I don’t equate them with frogs exactly. I was thinking more of stringed instruments like a Banjo since she seemed to be attracting them. Each kiss to Froggie/Jeremiah seemed to bring another frog! (And Wanda Heart) Still, musical like the frog chorus around here. Banjo actually chose her own name. I was trying out names on her and she didn’t like any of them. It evolved. Lol
I like Ferd! Ferd the frog! Gwen is cute for a girl. Lol Will a frog come when I call? Time to learn frog speak?

Our smiles tonight started out in the cat room. They took kind of a funny twist, as many things do with kitties.:kitty:

Banjo must have read the thread today.
C1488234-64A9-4912-ACE6-E779BFFB0B4B.jpeg

She kept looking out the side window with a concerned tail at half mast.
843CF95B-9D49-4F75-96D6-AD7DB8C25047.jpeg

She seemed a little jumpy.
24E447DB-124D-4D38-901B-5CB53D78A24C.jpeg

I did follow her gaze but nothing was out there.
91CB1747-BCEB-434B-9A0E-FAAF95F7D12D.jpeg

At least nothing I could see.
4EFF0FD7-0C34-4C96-A770-333075E43873.jpeg

Question mark tail! She is wondering about something.
E19C0E57-1D00-4161-8433-C769B853805E.jpeg

I looked around the room and there were question mark tails all around....
2292DA2A-2714-45E3-A065-A4EF084C45F1.jpeg

I reached down to pet Whistle and he was startled enough to think about swatting! Whistle never swats anyone unless he is just playing with Banjo.
6FBFD6F9-4B4E-42B7-B43C-3AA66F7334F4.jpeg

He sniffed me...
A835CFD1-583F-40DC-8A1E-FF7E02EE57DA.jpeg

was so relieved it was me that....
67553584-271F-40D9-B069-021442BA112B.jpeg

He stood up to hold onto my hand with both paws!
092ADFE1-E25A-44D4-AEAB-2D5D3496A3EB.jpeg

After reassurance....
60D12569-B732-4684-9BE2-782EC678D938.jpeg

And a kiss from Smokey his tail was almost a happy tail. Banjo looks okay.
0B2DE6B1-913B-4737-AB6B-5336995C61FC.jpeg

He was still a little nervous. One paw up.
B046FBEA-47AE-467B-9A07-CBCD5B574656.jpeg

Then he got scared enough to have a little fluff tail. Poor Whistle. It was seeing his own tail that scared him!
451EF10B-204B-45EC-A3A4-E1C080C5DD12.jpeg

What’s this? Banjo looks pretty happy but Whistle has one ear back.
63606595-70D9-468E-AAFA-884FEF94C854.jpeg

She’s very interested in watching the other cats.
230550EE-2626-406B-987A-0226DD1830BE.jpeg

They all act like they just heard something.
F821C442-6E65-4CE9-BE82-087D50B387F2.jpeg

Whistle is leaving with a fluffed tail along with a fluff tailed Smokey. What is going on?
95421652-A56E-4636-B20C-CB7FB88FECB6.jpeg

Okay. This is most unusual. Kodiak is sitting inside a cage.
2381AAEC-4872-43BB-AB6E-88232F8E9AA4.jpeg

Bonjure is playing possum?

Whoa! Bj?

I’m not sure what to think.

Talk to me BJ.

Over there?

You’re reassuring her huh BJ?

All okay?

And out the other side with a meow!

BJ actually pets her back!

They both look nervous.

That was different wasn’t it Lady. Lady? Are you nervous too? What are you staring at?
A119B807-B302-4DC7-89D7-AFC770E9A827.jpeg

It all your fault Mom. You left your phone where Banjo could read all the threads on TCS and she’s been telling ghost stories all day!
CEEE87E0-BDF2-4A04-B5D1-464DE8F4369E.jpeg

I only repeated what I read about the ghost in the air conditioner and the website jumping!
721857D9-A4EF-4D39-9061-700B7EA8B596.jpeg

I guess I shouldn’t have scared everybody. I feel really bad. I won’t do it again Mom.

Well! I guess Banjo just made her contribution to the contest going on for Halloween. TCS has a contest thread about your scariest cat story. If I didn’t know that Banjo had been scaring the kitties, I would have said the reactions here would qualify! Banjo! You even had me going! Now all the kitties are going to be sleeping with me at once tonight.
:bicolorcat::insertevillaugh:
She laughs now but if the air conditioner or phone had a ghost, I’d be putting her in charge of the repairs! :flail::help:
If you have a scary cat story, check out the contest. The prize is some primo cat food! Yummmmm!  No wonder Banjo did that. She wants the cat food! :doh2::flail:

I hope that this wasn’t a scary bedtime story for anyone. :running:
Have a great night/morning everyone! :heartshape:

LOL. :crackup::flail::lol: :lol2:

Don't ask me why, as I have no clue, but the names Freddie and Freda popped into my head as possible froggie names.

Jcatbird Jcatbird No spooky stories at all here, but I enjoyed the story and the pix! So glad everyone is okay now and I hope you did have a bedfull of cats -- what could be more blissful?!! :cloud9:
rubysmama rubysmama Thanks for sharing that! I'm not a fan of advertising (or insurance!) but I do love that ad.

*A beautiful blast from the past: My adorable feral AND rescued Baby Su in the Mojave. She had quite a scary physical fight with Elvis last night, the first I know of, because Elvis was in her spot and she jumped up not knowing he was there. He grabbed her and they turned into a rolling ball of rage. I had to squirt them both. She ran under the bed and stayed there for most of the night while I worried. Elvis took off for the front of the house. In the morning, they were both in their customary spots on the bed.*
