I found out this week that I was accepted into a very desirable Holiday craft show. Because their attendance is so great it rarely has openings for new crafters and I have been in a waitlist for a year. I mostly sell online but like to do a show near the holidays to make some Christmas money. And I just love building displays for my booth. So I am happily starting my planning, preparing and sewing.

No, because I'm supposed to be on a wedding diet. Trying to lose like 5-10lbs, but I like sweets too much.

And the $5 for gourmet ice cream probably could have gone to something wedding or honeymoon related, too.
Just one little dish or cone isn't a deal-breaker, I wouldn't think, Lari Lari !!! And you can occasionally do something for a little treat, yes? *Maybe my own love of licorice ice cream, and all things licorice, is speaking here.*

You're probably right. I'm just very self-conscious about my upper arms and legs - even after a year of weightlifting and them looking better, they're still not where I want them and I want so badly to look beautiful for my wedding.

You will!!! We're almost always our own harshest judges. If you want to do comparison, look at pix of almost any "celebs" and you'll see they sure have their flaws! like everyone else.

There was an online article from our ABC that really made my day.

Basically, euthinasia of companion animals has gone down remarkably as more and more people are chosing to adopt from Rescues:

In 2017-18, almost 61 per cent of cats were adopted from RSPCA shelters, up from 30 per cent in 1999.
For dogs in the same period, 76 per cent of the 40,286 handed into shelters were rehomed or reclaimed by lost owners and less than 14 per cent were euthanased, down from 39 per cent in 1999.
The RSPCA said the shift was due to a growing acceptance, even desire, to adopt or rescue a pet rather than buy from breeders.
'Badge of honour': Rise of the rescue pet sees huge drop in euthanasia rate

How good is that? :cheerleader:

This is EXCELLENT news and it is so good to see it widely shared on major media, mani mani ! The same is true in the US as well, according to recent NY Times article:
Why Euthanasia Rates at Animal Shelters Have Plummeted
I like to share these good news articles, too, because for me anyway, they boost my morale and I know that many of us in advocacy can become very sad and discouraged on a daily basis, so it's like exhorting the team.

Slept ok last night. Callie is doing better since we got the flea situation taken care of. Have good books I am reading, more coming from the library, some DVDs as well. For Keeps? Betsy's Wedding, chick flicks from the 80s maybe early 90s.

What's up with you?

We had another whopper of a storm last night so I went to check on Carleton who was sleeping downstairs. I waited for him to come upstairs with me and felt much better knowing he was beside me in bed. :sleepycat: DH told me when the alarm went off this morning he felt a furry creature beside him on his pillow.

I woke to a cat fanny in my face. Storms usually make her hide so I think it was the chilly air that brought her close.

We had huge storms last night but we needed the rain. I finally got some much-needed rest and sleep yesterday and last night. Mt doc prescribed a sleeping pill but I was afraid to take it the first week but I took it 2 nights in a row and I feel better.

Saw three great docs last night on PBS, on Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, and The Highwaymen. I love a good doc and these were amazing.
I love classic country!
Did you happen to see the special, on PBS, last Sunday night? It was titled: "Country Music: Live at the Ryman," A concert Celebrating the Film Documentary by Ken Burns."

It will be rebroadcast in during the nighttime hours, this month.

There is a documentary airing beginning Sunday night, all about the history of Country Music. It begins At 8pm Sunday.

I am going to watch it. It seems very interesting.

Very beautiful day yesterday! All sun, low humidity. Did a bit of laundry. Playing catch-up on my sleeping and eating. Since my Vincie girl went to the Bridge I've been a wreck but slowly trying to keep it together. Callie is doing so much better since the flea situation got under control. Had a good memory of my Vincie girl yesterday. She was pregnant and would sit on my lap vertically. I could feel her babies kicking!! Such an amazing thing! She had five beautiful babies so that was 20 tiny legs kicking!

That must have been incredible, Mia6 Mia6 ! I am so glad your precious memories are comforting to you, and they will continue to be so as time goes on. She is always watching over you!
So glad Callie is doing better, too.

I watched it, it was great. Many years ago when the Ryman was being renovated I went on a tour of it. It just gave me chills especially getting to stand on stage in the spot where so many greats stood to sing. This spot actually has a shallow dip from all the feet that stood there.
