Ya know, I think I actually like the new invitations better. I'm a fool for damask..really, for anything like that. Give me a Jacobean floral, and I'm in heaven!

Mia6 Mia6 - I was thinking I already have a spice rack full of spices! But my cayenne pepper is in a bag so I just picked out a spice jar for that. And maybe I should put in an empty rack because I have more spices than I have space.

rubysmama rubysmama - thanks for that list. I've browsed it now, but later I'm really going to take inventory on that of what we don't already have but could actually use.

Thanks for the compliments on the invites. It was a bit hard giving up the initial ones just because I think I'd convinced myself of them, but I am quite liking these ones, too, so I'm happy.

I think the style of the new invitations suits the style of your ring better. That ring is stunning. It’s unique and it is suitable for a princess. He chose very well! :clap2:

Boy! You are really moving along! You are helping your sister too. Awesome that you are accomplishing so much! Your wedding will be absolutely beautiful.

This weekend I went to DSW and picked up these shoes for my sister's wedding.

They should be simple and versatile enough I can reuse them. And the fiancé went to Men's Warehouse to get that squared away. I'm waiting to hear back about a cake tasting and am currently wasting a few minutes before my 2PM make-up trial.

So I guess I've been slightly productive.

I love those! They look really pretty but also comfortable. A rare combination!

Make up trial! Fun!

I’d say you have been very productive today. :yess:
Yeah, they have a little cushion on the sole. I'm a fan.

I like this make-up artist, though I think I'm going to skip the false eyelashes for the wedding and just do mascara. They just still feel too weird, even over an hour and a half later.

I can understand about the false eyelashes. I tried them. I have very blonde eyelashes and I thought they might be nice. I felt like I had butterflies on my eyes!!:bluebutterfly::bluebutterfly: :)
I kept them on until my fiancé got home so he could see them, and then basically ripped them off to much relief. Everything else felt fine, even for a non make-up wearer such as myself, but those were not for me.

I'm with you! Those lashes are horrible. AND...they tend to spring free at the worst possible moments. You do NOT want to blind your brand-new spouse with a fly eyelash during the First Kiss!

Oh boy.

After talking with my fiancé, and going to the store for our invite meeting, we decided that the invitation quote was too expensive and rather than trying to cut things out, we should just start all over again.

So we decided to go with these ones on shutterfly:
Washed Damask 5x7 Wedding Invites | Shutterfly

They were having a sale that ended today with a promo code for free shipping, so we sat and did the wording tonight and then I typed in all the addresses so they'd come pre-addressed. I guess if anyone moves before we need to send them or I made any mistakes we can just order some more envelopes, because this ended up being a lot cheaper - it would have been cheaper even without the sale and free shipping, but that really added to the discount. So that's good and done.

I mailed the invites for my sister's bridal shower on Friday, so hopefully soon I'll start getting RSVPs for that. And I've been slowly adding things to the wedding registry as I think of them. Anyone have any suggestions on what we might need? Apparently I need more than cat food and supplies. (lol, I do have a few things for us, too)

But I need to schedule cake tastings! And a meeting with the priest. Ugh, why is there so much still to do?
When I was deciding on what to do for my wedding, I kept getting anxiety attacks and stomach aches at the prices for everything. I decided I just wanted a JP at the courthouse. Easy Peasy. Except my MIL whined to hubs so I ended up having a small wedding in a restaurant we both liked. The JP married us and we sat down to eat at a buffet. No music, no dancing and no alcohol. We ate and we left, lol. And it came in under $1000. The restaurant made a pan of tiramisu for dessert. It was perfect.

Our invitations came in the other day! Here's our response card and one of our extra blank envelopes since there's no identifying info on them.

Cake tasting is on Saturday after the cat convention and before early birthday dinner with my parents.

I tried on a few white dresses as ideas for bridal shower/rehearsal dinner outfits at a nearby mall, while my phone was in the shop getting a cracked screen repaired, but didn't buy anything. I'm also looking for a hairpiece to go with my veil. I'm kind of liking those hair vines, it's a matter of finding the one.

Prices are absolutely ridiculous, though I'm telling myself that wedding vendors are just trying to make an honest living, too. It was very important for me to be married in the church, though I suppose we could have still done a smaller reception. It should be fun in the end, though. After all, I'm planning on this being my only wedding.
