I'm vegetarian, and like the BK veggie burger, but I'm not 100% sure they microwave it, as opposed to grilling it on the normal grill. Yes, I could ask, but not sure I want the answer. :(

I do know for sure that A&W cooks their new Beyond Meat veggie burger on the same grill as meat burgers, as they are upfront about it on their website. And though I won't not eat it for that reason, it is extremely maddening to present something as vegetarian/vegan and then cook it on the same surface as meat. :hmmm:
It's fine to be upfront on a webpage but shouldn't there be something on their drive thru menu that tells people that? It seems a little disrespectful.
I haven't had a veggie burger in a long, long time. I'm sure they're better now than they were in the 70's, it was like eating a rubber frisbee
My wife has a friend that's been a vegetarian practically all her life. One day we ran into her at a food market and I noticed she had some ground beef and some ground chicken in her cart. I didn't say anything but I knew she saw me gawking like an idiot and she said, simply, "I have a sick dog at home."
One time I went to the store in early January and the holiday meats were on sale, so I bought about 12 whole ducks. Now this store is small, and I know the checkers by name but the girl I had that day was new. She was very nice and very sweet, and made good small talk, and when she was scanning these ducks she said "having a party?" and I said "well, we're just feeding our kids". She smiled and said "wow, you must have a lot of kids" and I said "yes, we do. They like eating the ducks raw. Good for the teeth." She dropped a duck as she was passing it onto the baggers station, I had a good laugh, poor thing turned red and I explained to her my little poor excuse for a joke. She was a good sport about it

Isn't it beef tallow?

I think it's beef fat / tallow of some sort.

A vegetarian at the last job claimed that boxed brownie mixes contain beef fat. I didn't believe it and went through all the boxed mixes at the supermarket. None contained beef fat or any sort of meat product. No idea why that person made that claim :dunno:

Just got word, the special tonight is ribs.

Um, whose ribs?

I think I'm going to make a variety of calzones this evening...just made a big batch of fresh dough.

On hand, I have Italian sausage, pepperoni, onions and lots of cheese varieties. I may use the last hot dog wiener and leftover chili to make a chili-cheese-dog calzone or two in the batch.

Not sure which "flavor" I'll have for dinner tonight...most will get frozen for later.

The classic recipe for calzones does not have sauce. Too much could make them soggy, especially the frozen and reheated leftovers. I'm thinking about stirring some marinara into the Italian sausage at the end of browning it, but I never know exactly what the heck I'll end up with until I'm actually cooking. :p I may just have marinara on the side for dipping.
