rubysmama rubysmama Muffin is a character but there are always great pictures in that thread. I actually have lots of stink eye photos. Lol Never disobey a kitty! Thank you for the wishes! I think I know which one will win already though. These things are too funny!

My visitor has been here. She is getting a little thinner and stays very scared in spite of letting never pet her. She keeps begging to go in the trailer. I’ve had a way for her to get in but she didn’t figure it out. Today she broke my heart by trying to jump in a window and holding on to the frame whenever he couldn’t get in. I finally opened it and after cautiously looking inside, she went it. I have left it where she can get back out if she wants to. I started practicing picking her up today. She allows it and snuggles a minute before jumping down. If she becomes calm and stays here, I’ll take her in to see if she has a microchip. If she doesn’t my “ found cat” signs go back up. Her collar does seem pretty tight. If I get her to the vet maybe we can see if it’s appropriate, or remove it.

She’s a beautiful girl. I hope she has a great family somewhere.

Did you know that window is closed? I had started to open the one next to it but she jumped too early! She did go in shortly after this photo was taken. If she stays in, she’ll be safe until we figure things out. I guess I’ll be getting a kitty door or something. She won’t go near the road right now. She does appear to be looking at a particular type of truck. I guess I’ll be trying to follow the clues she gives me. It’s become pretty clear she used to be an inside kitty. My biggest fear is that she was dumped. If that turns out to be the case, I’m glad she found me. Still hoping for a reunion with a loving family.

The name that is probably going to stick is ......... Velcro! In honor of another and a generous friend. She likes the name and responds to it.

The feral and rescued cats seem to keep coming! She’s been here now since December 20th. Welcome Velcro! :redheartpump::lovecat: We are due for heavy rain so it’s a great relief to me to know she found her way in.
Sleep in comfort and safety Velcro!
Good night everyone!!

That collar does look tight. Since it doesn't have any id on it, it doesn't seem to be serving much of a purpose. I have seen stray dogs with collars embedded into their skin.
I think jcat mentioned it is a flea collar. Too tight was my first thought too but if she does belong to someone and is just lost not dumped they might be mad if the collar was taken off.

There's always great pictures in the monthly contests, and it fun just to enter, watch and vote. Not sure if Ruby will enter this month. Not that she can't give "stink eye", but I don't usually take pics of them. ;)

Welcome Velcro. You're adorable. Too bad you can't talk, so you could tell your story. :redheartpump:

I’m trying to see about the collar. Outside cats should not wear them as they get caught on things and trapped. I can get a finger under it so maybe it isn’t too tight. I’m going to look up the brand if I can find it. It might tell me if it is prescription and I can try to find. Vet that sells them. If it gets outdated then I will cut it off to see if she arrives with a new one on. For now, it stays unless it gets tight enough to hurt her. She is still nervous but much better than she was. We’ll see what she does. Right now she can come and go as she pleases in case she has a home.

I have found a cat caught in a fence by a collar. A beautiful fluff ball but I found her too late. That haunts me still and I’ll never get that picture out of my mind. Collars for outside kitties are bad. They now make break away collars but I don’t know if they actually keep the cat from getting trapped. A good collar costs as much as the treatment you put behind their neck. Identification can be established just by microchipping. They don’t need a collar to show they belong to someone. They should be a thing of the past unless you are just using a harness or something to take your indoor cat for a walk. I think cats should be supervised or in a protected area outside anyway. Many places have a leash law for cats. You are not allowed to just let them run free. The visitor here has an owner who is breaking the law by letting her roam free. If I didn’t care what would happen to her, animal control would pick her up and euthanize her. The shelter here is a kill shelter. They only have a short time to be located by the owner. That’s why I am so worried about Velcro. Someone called on the neighbor who feeds ferals without TNR a few days ago. I’m now in a rush to help Velcro. If she is seen wandering off my property, she is at risk. Animal control cannot come into my land so she is protected here.

I’m so glad that baby is being fostered. That little face got my attention immediately. Yay! Good news!

surya surya Thank you. The reflectors show as European, Dutch it German. I’ll have to see if anyone around here useda vet prescription to order that collar. It’s a clue. A good piece of information to use in my search. When the vets are open I can call.
Is there anyway to unhook it?

Maybe she is gone. I’ve looked for her all night. I’m hoping she went home. She’s been here a good while now but maybe her family was looking for her. Time will tell. I wish kitties could leave notes! :dunno:
