LOL. Cats will be cats.

But the problem is that Bosie nibbles and then moves away and forgets about it. And he doesn't meow at me when he's hungry. So after a few hours when I realise he hasn't eaten all day I have to chase him with his half-empty food bowl and finger-feed him until he realizes "oh! this is food! this tastes good!"
And then... he just nibbles down another quarter. :livid:

We are feeding Gohan dry food because of that very reason. He’s a grazer and only likes a few wet food options (he literally gags at chunks but doesn’t seem to like pate texture). But of course Olive eats everything and she’s becoming quite the chunky girl. We will need to move to a chip feeder likely.

My cat Maggie eats half her portion then comes back 5-10 minutes later and eats the other half. Kinda how wild cats eat
Yes to all this. We feed five small meals a day and that really helps. I can't imagine what our pickier, slower-eating cat would do if we tried to feed her only twice a day! And some cats just seem to prefer certain textures. Some foods are easy to put in a mini-processor for liquification!

I just gave my cats sardines from Tiki. My cats loved it except Peaches. She does not like fish. Can stunk til I put their food on the floor. My cat Maggie no longer likes the daves cats meow beef so I mix in some fish or anything with gravy.

Just received a small order from Pawstruck!! I wanted to try the Red Barn beef stew and chicken stew flavors. The ingredients seemed good and the only hurdle most owners had was getting their cats to eat it! All 4 of mine were obsessed immediately :)

I also got a few pate flavors from Red Barn like the Lamb. Maybe I actually found a more holistic canned food they will eat

The Redbarn lamb pate was a hit with Sylvie. Now that she’s eaten the two cans I ordered and hasn’t suffered any digestive problems from the small amount of peas in them, I’m thinking of taking my chances with a case. (Yes, I know that’s the way to guarantee that she’ll decide she doesn’t like it.)

She ate the Redbarn beef stew at first but quickly changed her mind. But she’s a pate lover, so the chunkier textures don’t appeal to her.

Chip feeders are great! My sister has two cats, a chunky and a very slim one and chunky Leo steals Miryam's food all the time. So now she has the SureFeed chip feeder just for Miryam because she doesn't like it if her wet food is dried out...

My cat Peaches steals food from Maggie. Do I only need to buy one feeder and put the chip on Peaches or Maggie?

I would put Maggie’s food in the feeder. Think of it as a force field to keep out greedy fat cats.

Haha! Peaches is only 7pds. If she steals Maggie's food she will throw up from over eating so I have to watch her, never turn my head away

I want to buy one but she uses a large whisker free bowl. What is the size of the bowl used?

I would put the chip on the cat who's not eating enough. My sister put the chip on Miryam (the skinny kitty) because Leo kept stealing her food, so now Miryam has her very own supply of wet food he can't get to.

I just checked Amazon and the SureFeed website and you can buy different bowls (plastic, stainless steel etc.), I'm pretty sure!

The one my sister has is called SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder and the bowl size is 4 1⁄8" (W) x 6 5⁄16" (H) x 1 3⁄16" (D) (I just stole that information from the website, lol! :compsurfing:).

Hope this helps! It's pretty pricey so if you have cats who don't steal food it's probably unnecessary, but for pathological food stealers it might be useful! :vibes::vibes::vibes:

We tried Caru this week (Chicken & Crab so far) and Lydia LOVES it. A little pricey for everyday but if she likes more of them I'll be grabbing a case to add to the rotation

While I was on the Feline Natural site, I noticed they're introducing a Single Source Protein line of canned foods -- just Beef, Chicken, or Lamb in each variety. The detail page for each says, "Only available in New Zealand. Coming soon to the rest of the world."

Sylvie can't eat chicken, but I'll be willing to give the Beef and the Lamb a go once they're available in the U.S.

Yes, I wondered about that food, too! I'd love to have another one to add to the cats' menu. (Alas, I also wonder what the prices will be since the chicken/lamb has gone up.)
