I think my parents might adopt mama which I would absolutely love!!
I haven't tried to sex them just yet...the last time I fostered a litter, I sexed and named them early, then ended up having to change two names because I was wrong. So I'm trying to hold off. I'm brainstorming themes for names though!Such wonderful progress! New pics please. Can you determine male/female kittens yet? Have you named them?
I'm working on them. My dad really wants her but my mom is hesitant to add to their family. They have 3 cats already but have had as many as 6 before. They love the ones they have now but none of them are really snuggle bugs. More aloof. My dad really wants to add a cuddler to the mix. When they came over he totally fell in love. I send them lots of cute photos every day to persuade them!Oh, so precious! Momma kitten looks like such sweet, lovely dear. I was happy to hear your parents are considering giving her a forever home.
Dyra is her name, I don't like it either! Unfortunately I can't technically change it unless I adopt her. The rescue I volunteer for has to be really stringent about keeping the same name on all of the paperwork for each cat. My parents will definitely be changing the name if they adopt her!! Kinda why I've just been calling her "mama."That sounds like my Luciano, so I understand why you wouldn't be adding members to your family permanently.
As for names, do you watch the show blackish? There are five kids on that show: Zoey, Junior, Jack, Diane & Davonte. The mom's name on the show is Rainbow (child of hippies), but she's usually called Bow. I'm not crazy about Dyna(?) as the name for this mama, which is why I suggest the change.
Haha! Yeah, they can be quirky about those things.I'm not sure what it is about shelters naming their cats, but they sure are finicky about it. I trapped an abandoned feral last summer and kept him for a few weeks until he weighed enough and was old enough to take to the shelter. I wrote up a one sheet summary of Dasher's personality and food and toy preferences. The lady at the shelter remarked, "Oh. I see you named him already. I'll have to see what they think about that." She had an extremely perturbed tone of voice about me naming him. I had to call him something.
You can call her whatever you want, the paperwork is a different story. I know a lot of people who don't use their given first name anywhere but legal documents.Unfortunately I can't technically change it unless I adopt her.
I bet you had a name you would have liked to call her!I'm not sure what it is about shelters naming their cats, but they sure are finicky about it.
