Thanks again for everyone's kind words.

That is a cool back pack. I want one. What is it called and where did you get it? And the cat harness too. I'm glad you decided to bring Buddy home and have adventures with him.
I hope this is allowed.

The backpack is from Petsfit Comfort Dogs Carriers/Backpack,Hold Pets up to 15 LBS,Go for Walk, Hiking and Cycling 17"H x13"L x11"D

The harness I got at a PetValu. It's a H harness call Catit. Similar to this one, except it did not come with a leash.
I bought a different leash, Lil Pals, that has a plastic clasp so there isn't the weight of the metal clasp hanging on the cats back.
I am curious at what point the plastic clasp could fail. I could be wrong but I doubt Buddy even when full grown could pull with enough force to make it fail.

Oh I forgot this.

I'm big into safety and I did order a new H harness. It glows in the dark and has reflective material. Made by a company called Rogz. As long as Buddy doesn't get out of the harness, it should help with locating him.
I bought a collar before realizing they made a harness.

He IS quite a lucky cat! This is so endearing. Isn't clicker training so fun? I'm still trying to come up with new ideas now that Elfie has learned everything from "Sit" to "Hi5" and "Roll over" When I show people they think I got a circus cat.

Keep updating the thread yes!! I'd love to see more of Buddy!

Great pictures of a beautiful kitten. But I'm surprised he's not a fan of the Panthers, Jaguars, Bengals or Lions. :flail:
I was too.

It is.
I'm surprised how quickly he picks up on what I want him to do. Took 2 days and about 15 minutes for him to get the jump command. Now I have to get him comfortable to jump higher to my arms. Currently I keep a knee forward for him to jump up to.

Yesterday evening I messed up. Set up the GoPro to video me training Buddy to jump. Didn't work to well since I had it in photo mode and not video..... I'll try again.

We got out a little tonight before the sun went down.

After 35 minutes or so he had a seat on the ground. After about a minute of him looking around I placed his backpack down for him. He continued to look around for another 4 or 5 minutes and decided it was time to go home as he went into his backpack.

Must have tired him out. He decided to crash.

Buddy's new harness that glows in the dark and has reflective material on it showed up today.

Although I may be looking into a different harness. One that I could still use a collar for attaching a tracker in case of separation when out on adventures. I started a thread on trackers here.

The leash, one side is glow in the dark, the other reflective.

What I'm not crazy about is the metal clasp. Might just be the backpacker in me. The metal clasp weighs .58oz and the plastic one is only .20oz. Buddy doesn't mind it but I may look into swapping it out with something different if I decide to use this leash over the Lil Pals.
Maybe a mitten hook. Weighs .10oz.

Some more pics of our outings.

Funny I was just talking to someone today about a GPS for Manny. He gets spooked outside and tries to take off running. Luckily he always goes to the basement door but GPS would make me feel better. He was a yr and half when I got him and obviously abused at some point and scared of everything. He's making great progress though. Buddy looks right at home being outside and on a leash.

elgecko elgecko , Our "Buddy's" might be twins?

BUT, our Buddy is no longer an outside adventure cat. He's used up every bit of his luck and now only adventures indoors.
For the longest time we thought he was the bravest cat EVER.
But, there's a fine line between brave and clueless. And as much as I hate to stay it....I can only now assumed that our Buddy is far from the sharpest tool in the shed.

sabian sabian maybe check out a product called "tile". It might be able to connect to a collar. Got one for my son's key ring. You can track it from your phone.
