Elvis loves to lick plastic.  Anything that's in a plastic bag and out in plain sight, he'll find.  I have to be careful.  I haven't seen him actually chew any plastic yet, but I never want to.

So far, I am very lucky.  Hekitty doesn't eat anything that doesn't come out of a bag of kibbles, or a plastic tub labeled "Temptations."  With the exception of the water from a tuna can (NOT the tuna, ever), and raspberry sherbet.

Perhaps the tape was on the ceiling?  Yeah, I know, but apparently the kitten was.  It could happen.

There have been lapses in housekeeping but I'm not sure it was at the level where tape would be hanging from the ceiling.

HUH...the post didn't come down.  WELL...considering the things I have found in the places I have found them in my own home, I had to wonder.   Some from occasional lapses in housekeeping, a couple from intermittent total dereliction of duty towards same.  But then, I've only myself and Hekitty to please.  If the kitchen and bathroom are sanitary, and there's a path through the house, we're good.  Actually, I'm fairly neat, I just LOATHE dusting with a passion.

Why is this, I wonder?  I like to keep our home clean -- it belonged to my parents and I love it very much -- but I also hate dusting.  I usually do it when I'm angry, to work off that negative energy.

I have swiffers with short and long handles. It keeps a lot at bay. I'm thinking of getting one of those rechargeable stick vacuums.

Well, not trying to dissuade you as I don't have one, but in the past, anything but a full-size vacuum has lost suction in no time, and gets relegated to the corner of the utility closet, never to be brought out again.

I was looking at the full size dyson type stick. I have a tank vacuum that uses hepa  filtered bags I'm on the fence if I want another bagless. It's starting to age a bit. I have a smaller dust devil type that I use to get cat food and litter. The great thing about my current vacuum is it has a high powered motor and cleans things off. We've doubled our cat population I probably need to see what I can do to mitigate some of the hair and dander.

~drools lightly on keyboard~  I'd love to have one of those!  Getting the Hekitty fur off the tops of the drapes is MURDER!  The wand on my vac isn't long enough to reach, so I end up perched on a kitchen chair trying to hold a heavy vac with one hand and use the wand with the other.  Imma bust my tail one of these days!

Yep I have done this too. The tall ceilings in the middle make it challenging..that's my worse habit=not cleaning dust up. I just hate the smell of dust and how it makes my face itch when I do it. I keep putting it off...maybe next couple of days when the air warms up so I can open the windows..right now it's too cool out to open the windows.

I wish they made a canister vacuum with a 12 foot long wand. Because sometimes it's hard to reach the corners in certain areas of my ceilings.

I sit my canister on the counters or table or anything to make it taller instead of myself.

I'm very amazed that people spend that kind of money for a vacuum.  Even if I had it, I wouldn't.  A friend had the "Animal" and said it was useless.  I bought a refurb Dirt Devil upright with onboard tools about 6 years ago for $60 and it's still going strong.  Bagless, HEPA filter, long cord, and stairs/upholstery tool plus the other basic tools.  I LOVE this vacuum.  And it's cheap enough that when/if I need another, I'll buy another from them.  They have stick vacs too, for really good prices.  Just a suggestion.

I love my tank with the power head , power animal cleaner but something in the middle would be nice. You know it's like hauling around a wagon train.

I know.  I still have my mom's old GE tank.  It's round and beige, ca. 1960s or something.  I've never used it, but it's there in case, and it's probably much better than any of the junk they charge so much for now.  Anyway, hope you do find the perfect one for your needs.  A good vacuum is so important to have!

https://dirtdevil.com/products/category/canister-vacuums/ Here are some nice ones and they have little portable spot cleaners and stick types as well.  Bagless, bagged, HEPA filtered, you name it.

I should have vacuumed today but instead I went and played in the yard. This is the best time of year to clean up the yucca plants and do some pruning that I missed last year. the kits followed me from window to window vocalizing their suggestions. I really wish it was safe to put them in a harness and take them out. I had Mook's mother torn in half in front of me while she was napping on the porch steps next to me. The dogs just came around the house from no where and it was over that fast. I don't think I'll ever forget her cries.
