Sinbad is such a cutie, how could anyone not love him for being so innocent (and clueless when it comes to Tempest's cat communications).
Mouse doesn't know what a hiss means either, he's only heard one once when he was at a cat show and this feisty little kitten hissed at him when I had him out of his pen and she was out of hers and being held too.  Mouse looked at her like she was an alien, it was so funny to see.  Tempest must wonder what's wrong with her fellow cat resident that he keeps running towards her when  she hisses, and then hisses with his toys too.  I hope they get some kind of settled way of sharing your home soon Losna.   They are both gorgeous, and obviously really bright, it's just seems Sinbad doesn't speak 'cat'.

Thank you magiksgirl magiksgirl  They darkened as they got older - ending up the same colour as Cali, my avatar cat.

Those pics of Binx are gorgeous (just noticed how much I'm over using that word :anon: :lol3: ). I love black cats too. Here's Asha tonight...between meows :frusty:

@losna I'm sorry your kitties have to be kept apart like that. I think my girls (or at least just Sniffles) would be happier apart so that's why I'm looking for a bigger place. I currently live in a one bedroom house. I'm glad to hear it works in your household. Gives me hope. :)

Increasing the available vertical space might help your guys in the meantime. Longer term, more space really could make all the difference they need  :cross:

Damn...RSI flaring again :( Think I'll need a few days off from TCS to recover from this babble fest :lol3:

They are still pretty!

Binx is a super cute kitty! And soooo tiny! He was the cutest thing ever! He would always "protect" his sister! On a sad occasion a cat managed to get into my house and near the babies. Momma scared him off by the time I there, so I made sure all 4 were ok, and there was Binxie, hissing at me protecting his sister
Such a brave little boy! I let him calm down on his own and hugged the pudding out all of them. He was kind of my favorite but I really wanted to be able to keep the ones that weren't able to be adopted. Though I'm not complaining about Wanda and Grinnie!

Asha is so beautiful! She does seem to be a bit annoyed
Have you been able to get an open mouth picture yet?

@Columbine  Your childhhod cats were really cute. Such sweet faces.   The photo of Asha tonight though is stunning -a bit of a grumpy expression though!  Is she demamding of attention this evening?

RSI? What's that? I'm guessing it's maybe something like carpel tunnel syndrome? I'm certainly getting something like that with my thumbs from keeping up with this thread!

We have been too positive in this thread, so I'm here to bring some negative energy to this thread in the name of BALANCE. :D

Anyone have guilt-tripping family members? The ones who manipulate you into doing what they want in the guise of "love"? I was raised in that kind of culture where it's commonplace, and I was just reminded how alive it is still in my family. I also always allow myself to be guilt-tripped, and then hate myself (and them) after. What do?

This is why I love my cat. He'll never do something like that to me. "I've stayed indoors all this time, giving up my freedom, and all I ask is a little extra food than I'm supposed to eat, and you can't even give me that last shred of decency??"

Nope and nope. She was mad that I woke her for pictures (yet another failed entry attempt :sigh: ). She really is a master (or should that be mistress) of the stink eye :lol3:

Thanks for the compliments again  She certainly thinks she's beautiful!

RSI = repetitive strain injury. Carpal Tunnel is one form of it I believe, though a very extreme one.

fhicat fhicat Hell yes! My mum is a master at it...all the while swearing blind that she's not doing it :argh: Those are the days I want to move out again! I either suck it up or snap back (which usually culminates in a blazing row). I definitely feel trapped when that happens.

Moving swiftly on.... ;)

LoL.  I wonder if everyone will last long enough to make 1500, or if we all end up with serious babbling injuries.

Oh no @FhiCat  , do not give in.  Guilt trips are evil. You do what you must to be content in your self.

Maybe there should be a stink eye photo contest.  Then maybe you'd get some open mouth photos!

@Columbine   LoL, I know, I've spent my adolescent and adult life working on this trying not to give in and do what I feel I need to.  I don't think anyone gives enough credit to how much hard work goes in to being mean!

There is  a stink eye thread @Handsome Kitty  .  Mouse has quite a few photos in that thread.
I'm sure it would be a very popular competition, lots of strong contenders....

I have family members like that! I learned a long time ago to not give into their guilt trips. One time they asked me for money, so I lent it to them, I was a student at the time and paying my own tuition, transportation, food and such, he took almost six months to return the money to me! Again he asked for double the amount but being cautious I only lent him half, I almost got into a fight with him because he "had no money to pay me" and here I was with no bus fare or money for food! I put my foot down and told him to find a way to pay me, maybe sell some of his many shoes and clothes, in the end he paid me two years after the initial loan. Financially I've done better than that person, and he continues to ask me for money, but no way am I going to lend him any.

I'm a firm believer that there's a difference when someone checks in with you saying "I'm sorry, I can't pay soon" than someone whom you have to ask for the money back.

You should always do what feels right to you and no one else, if you don't you'll always feel down and not happy. I think the meaning of life it to be happy, regardless of what we do for a living or whom we associate with: feeling comfortable with what you're doing and having no regrets.  I'm sure you can do it!

handsome kitty handsome kitty   Now that's an experiment I'd love to try.

How about it Anne Anne ? A Stink Eye themed photo competition sounds good to me

Thanks for the encouragement, but I'm not doing any more pics tonight...after that shot she hit me and went off in a huff. If I want to keep my skin where it is I'd better be told!

Yep, my mother is the queen of it. I don't always give in, but then I feel guilty. :sigh:

My oldest daughter tells me that I guilt trip her although I'm completely unaware of it.  I try very hard now not to do it.  If I do, I don't know where I got it from since my mother didn't do it to me.  Anyway, you can't let that stuff get to you.  You know what's right for you!

Yes! @MServant  people don't give us enough credit! It's not easy being mean!

Yep, my mother is the queen of it. I don't always give in, but then I feel guilty.
Please don't  they have to know that we won't always comply.

I wonder if cat mom's do it to their kit's?   I mean, we all know that cats are aces at making their humans feel guilty (that plaintive meow when we've left the food bowl empty for 5 minutes longer than usual or not stroked their head the second we  came home at the end of a long day), but how to they interact with their kittens?
