Zorro was a trooper today. Had to drive to the travelling vet’s home for a blood sample. I’ve managed to be her assistant in the past, being the “scruffer” while she draws blood, but I just couldn’t take it anymore. I’m a complete nervous wreck and a wuss and Zorro knows it and takes advantage. Better to have an objective assistant, who turned out to be a teenager! …In and out in five seconds.

DD wanted to make grilled cheese for lunch today so I heated up a can of tomato soup for us all. I had the sprinklers going outside to water the new grass seed and it unexpectedly started raining; so this was a pretty perfect lunch.

Yesterday was about the same with unexpected rain so I had minestrone soup. I know spring should have rain and not be too warm; but this feels more like comfort food weather.

I've been eating low-sodium for some time now. Yesterday's soup left me SO thirsty!! I really need to make my own soups but it's just so convenient to pop open a can when I want it.

I buy plastic containers with lids and then use them to freeze portions of soup, chili etc. That way you can grab a container from the freezer as easily as a can from the pantry and they only take a few minutes to thaw and heat up in the microwave.

Be safe! Hope it’s a comfy basement w books n food! Let us know you’re safe!!!
Thanks. It’s safe but a little short on the comfy. Because it has big windows I need to huddle in one corner. But I do have my IPad and phone to entertain me. Took this picture last night to send to my son.

Basements aren't common here and our "shelter" is the master closet. We don't get large tornados here; but we've had one a mile north and south of us now so that's enough for me. 🤪 I know basements can come with their own set of issues; but if we ever move I would really prefer a place that has one. If we build; maybe that could be a requirement.

Okay, but seriously, my daughter will eat:
Rocks
Wood chips
Dandelions
Chalk

She will not eat
Melted cheese.

She ate some when it was super saucy, but I failed at my sauce today and she barely ate any.

I also tried melted on a tortilla.

Super annoying. I don't understand toddlers.

Lari Lari OH, my Darling Girl! I have come to the conclusion that we are not supposed to understand toddlers. If we did, we'd be terrified of them!

Another night of storms. The upside? There's a cat in my lap. The downside? The cat in my lap is attempting to burrow THROUGH me.

The Thursday night storms were something else, that's for sure. I don't have any damage except a tree down, but it's an ash so it had borer damage.

A lot of nearby towns had severe damage though.
Whew! Good to “see” you, W Willowy ! I was wondering how you fared.

Glad it didn’t land on anything! Big storms here two nights in a row but no damage for me either.

My mom tells me that when I was a toddler I used to love to eat dry dog food.
Maybe pour cheese sauce on that and give it a try. :flail:
