I have no clue. None. Somewhere around 2 AM, I'll wander into the kitchen, look in the pantry, look in the fridge, and think...What I REALLY WANT is Chinese. BUT...I blew the budget ordering books, which is better anyway for long-term staying at home. There's plenty of food here, I'm just not in the mood for anything, so I suppose anything will do.

For dinner tonight we just finished up the leftovers from last night,so I didn't really cook today. However,I have been craving bagels,so I took to the kitchen and made my own...sort of.Basically I made them unboiled, and they turned out really delicious. So happy with them, and guess what's for breakfast:)

I haven't had anything too exciting this week but I'm sure glad I made a pasta casserole over the weekend because we've been grazing on leftovers. I made it to Trader Joe's the other day and splurged on two packages of their veggie quinoa burgers and brioche buns.

muffy muffy When I microwave something like that, I'll wrap it in a paper towel first, then nuke it. It seems to do a better job. I also do that when I'm microwaving something yeasty or baked from the freezer (rolls, bread, etc.)

Yesterday I made a big batch of Chinese sweet and sour chicken and sweet and sour vegetables as my young neighbors really like Chinese food and I shared with them. They brought my new entertainment center into the house for the big TV that Best Buy was supposed to deliver and did not but now is scheduled for next Wednesday. Now there is some Chinese left for me for tonight, I may gussy it up with some Lo Mein noodles on top. I gave my neighbors so much of it that they will probably have enough for tonight also. It is difficult to make Chinese for just one person so I make enough for them also, they have already offered to buy more chicken for me, I will take them up on that later, right now I am eating down my freezer and they have already bought a jar of mayo and some rice vinegar for me anyway. Next time I will make something with pork. Chicken and pork are the main meats in Chinese cookery with beef and seafood also as a third but as I am allergic to shellfish but not regular fish I don't make any Chinese seafood dishes.

Tonight we will be having (almost done cooking) braised boneless pork spareribs simmered with a little bit of canned crushed tomatoes, some stock (what did not spill in refrigerator yesterday), red vermouth, plus onions and mushrooms sauteed and left to cook with the meat. Sides will be smashed par-cooked little potatoes, fried up, and braised cabbage with a little bacon.

muffy muffy give the stale cookie a few seconds in the microwave and see if that helps. But eat it up right away. If you microwave and let it sit it will be even more stale than befoe.

You beat me to it! Dampen, NOT WET, the paper towel first, and the cookie or bread will be nicely moist.

I'm craving honey mustard, and being entirely out of corn dogs, that leaves chicken nuggets. I SHALL FOLLOW MY BLISS!

Thanks for your input.

I hate it when I am craving something and not being able to get in a car and go get it at the grocery store. People don't don't know how lucky they are to be able to just hop in a car and go and not have to depend on other people to take you places.
