I had a vegetable plate with carrots, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers with organic ranch dressing last night. It was just too hot to cook anything.
What's wrong with quiche. I love it. Did I miss something? Also, note to self....do not attempt a quiche.
I just love a good quiche. We don't have it often, but we really enjoy them. They're a favorite around here when we do brunch on weekends, esp for the holidays. What's wrong with quiche. I love it. Did I miss something?
I'm the designated dish washer. Usually 4 sinkfulls total per day. We don't have a dishwasher. It's brutal in this heat/humidity. Nobody can call me a slacker. But I stupidly volunteered to be the dish washer tonight.
LOL except for the possibility of a carton of eggs flying across the room, quiche is dead-easy and almost fool-proof. One of those dishes I can make in my sleep, although I confess to using prepared pie crusts more than not. What's the deal with so many exploding food mishaps? I think we're all in this one together

No way! I dropped the yogurt, someone else dropped something out of the microwave and in the last few days it seems posters here have dropped food or remembered doing so, = bad luck...the last quiche we made was stolen by a dog when a cat helpfully knocked it to the floor. I can't deal with that kind of loss again. What's wrong with quiche. I love it. Did I miss something?
Oh man, that Monday Glad you're OK. Wallmart was probably thinking "please don't sue" (lots of people would) but it's nice they kept your groceries together and in a cooler for you. Hopefully no concussion, etc?LOL except for the possibility of a carton of eggs flying across the room, quiche is dead-easy and almost fool-proof. BOY do I have some catching up to do!
SUNDAY... black beans and rice.
MONDAY...did my shopping. On the way out of the store, had a vertigo attack, keeled sideways out of the electric cart, hit my head on a bench, and lay there like a stranded turtle on its back. Off to ER (Walmar insisited...don't blame them...but kept my groceries in the cooler till I could get back that evening to pick them up), SO...chicken salad from their deli and crackers.
TUESDAY...Hot dogs with cheese and onions, of course.
TONIGHT...Um. Dunno. Either hot dog, onion and cheese "stromboli" or eggs and biscuits. Or fried egg sandwich. Depends on my mood. I may not feel bakish when the time comes.
I sometimes get the hungries for hot dogs. I don't eat a lot, but when I do get the hungries I eat nothing but hot dogs, hot dogs and more hot dogs.Thank you. And that being the case, I think I'll just do hot dogs. Nothing like a 3 minute meal.
I've never tried Bar S. I will probably pick some up to stash in the freezer for the winter.Cheap. And in my book, the best of the cheap dogs is the Bar S brand. They taste meatier to me. I think I could literally eat hot dogs 15 days a month and never get tired of them.
I grew up on these Glazier hot dogs. I had no idea they were just an Upstate NY hot dog! I feel sorry for you guys, that you never got to try them! They are bright red and the skin cooks up all crispy. Great for cookouts on the grill! What's your preferred brand?

That taco salad sounds awesome. I haven't had one in ages. I'll jot it down on my "must make asap" list!I didn't take anything out to thaw this morning for the dog's dinner, so I'm stopping after work to pick up some fresh chicken thighs.
Think I'll put a couple thighs in an ancho-chile and lime marinade, cook them up in a skillet and make a chicken taco salad.
