I was thinking about this myself the other day and thought it might be an interesting conversation to have here. Are there any lessons (life lessons mainly I suppose) that having a cat has taught you?
The main lessons for me I think would be, well, one would be not to hold too much attachment to “things”. A favourite mug is just a mug, and if Scamps happens to knock it over he didn’t do it on purpose (although this could probably be argued!) and I just have to let it go. That nice item of clothing that he clawed that now has threads pulled in it? Well, he was just playing and again, I just have to let it go. They’re just things.
And then, secondly, I kind of admire how if a cat really doesn’t want to do something, they’re just not going to do it. They are who they are and just don’t really put up with much c**p! I think I can be a bit of a people pleaser sometimes, and sometimes it’s just good to learn how to say “No”.
How about you guys? Any feline life lessons you’d like to share?
