She's been eating less from the formula and feeding more on mum. Still gaining nicely.
On the subject, I thought mum was suppose to feed every two hours or so but I've noticed she spends most of her time napping and feeding her kittens. She's gaining weight and has a good appetite, comes over to request cuddles, and also she started playing a bit with them but as their weight increases I'm wondering if she'll be ok or if I should be giving them a bit of wet food/formula slurry once a day to help.
Just wanted to give a quick update. They are almost 6 weeks, very healthy, and will be up for adoption at 8 weeks or so. Thank you for your help, I learned so much.
Agree, if allowed by the rescue, it is much better for the kittens to stay with mom for 12 weeks. It is also beneficial if kittens can be re-homed in pairs.
Hello all. It's been a couple of months. All were adopted... And yes we kept one. She's almost 6 months, very funny and playful, a little purring goblin that we absolutely adore.
Here she is bugging her fur brothers with her love.
