I don't know about that area specifically but I do know that in situations like this people use a site called gofundme where they explain the situation and then share their article from that website on social media, and the website is a safe place for people to make donations for you. I know it's helped a few people. It wouldn't hurt to try.

If you're in the US, call the ASPCA Poison Control hotline: (888) 426-4435 There is an initial consultation fee you have to pay.

Call the vet office and see if the after hours message has a phone number you can call for emergencies or other instructions on emergencies.
The consultation fee may be waived if your pet is chipped through HomeAgain.

Can you go to the grocery store and get a jar (or a few) of human meat baby food. The chicken or turkey are usually the best. You don't want any garlic or onion I think it is gerber stage 2 that is the most basic.

Does anyone know of or could help me find a organization that would help with emergency veterinary Care. I live in the bay area (California) .

They gave him the sub q fluids at the vet. And Im aware the best thing would be to keep him at the vet. But also the vet said he didn't know too much about lilys, He took pictures of the actual flower I brought in with me and was going to send it to the emergency specialist at Sage.

If he hasn't improved by this evening I do plan on taking him to Sage. I do have to wait until husband gets paid and home from work.

Im unable to get care credit and payment plan wasnt an option but they agreed to let me pay the remaining $40 I owe later today.
I'm doing everything I possibly can for my cat. I don't want to lose him.

Also, maddies momma's post is good, too-
Interesting how the vet said he doesn't know much about lillies. That is one of the main toxins that they need to be aware. Eating even just a portion of a leaf can shut down the kidneys. They need to be continually flushed iv. It's also strange that the vet gave an anti nausea as the vomiting is an important part of getting rid of the toxin. I guess he figured the toxin was past the stomache and already in the system. The standard protocol should be flushing the kidneys and administering activated charcoal to absorb any left over toxin. Sub q fluids are absorbed very slowly over a long period of time. They are not going to flush the kidneys, at most they will keep your cat hydrated. Also the antibiotic is not going to do anything for the poison, it will jut protect the gut from obtaining a bacterial infection after all the vomiting. Please keep a close eye on your cat and keep us updated. And please consider returning to the vet for more aggressive treatment.

it sounds like you need to find another vet! Isn't there an animal hospital in your area? One of my cats got into a lily last year & I just about had a heart attack. That is one of the most toxic plants for a cat to get into, crazy your vet didn't know that. My cat was in the hospital for like 3 days but thankfully I got the care credit thing. Please keep us updated

Oriental Lily | Pet Poison Helpline

I am not sure about Asian Lillies but star gazer lillies are very poisonous. My Obi got into them once and I took him to the Vet school emergency clinic because apparently with star lilies, even after vomiting, they can continue to do damage - to the kidneys. According to the above, Asian Lillies are also toxic.

danni88 danni88 Sorry to have not got back to you sooner, it's early morning here and I seem to have gone to bed yesterday afternoon through stress exhaustion!

Firstly, the VCA Emergency Hospital looks the best choice but I don't know how far it is from your home:

Home

Here is a list of many other vet practices in the Bay area:

Find Bay Area Veterinarians | Veterinarians.com

I don't know why your vet wouldn't know that asiatic lilies, and all other species of lilies, are 2nd only to antifreeze when it comes to cat poisoning. I also don't know why they would administer antibiotics. Nor do I understand why they gave you an antiemetic (anti-nausea) when vomiting is crucial with lily poisoning. Your vet should have given Ducky veterinary activated charcoal to bind to the poison to prevent it from being absorbed into the rest of his body through the stomach wall. Do you know what the pill contained that he was given to line his stomach? Giving him cow's milk would have lined his stomach also, the benefits outweigh the side-effect of diarrhoea in cases of plant poisoning.

I feel very bad as I knew this yesterday when I initially posted, but didn't stress the point as I wanted you to phone the vet, when I presumed they would tell you exactly that. And that you would have taken him to the vet where they would have treated him and kept him in on a subcutaneous drip. I feel very bad for going to bed early, I'm ever so sorry.

For future reference for everyone, here is a guide to 1st aid for plant poisoning in cats, but this is 1st aid and should be done within the first few hours:

CatStuff: First Aid for Plant Poisoning

You could buy a subcutaneous drip set from a vet to administer at home; however, he really should be kept in at a hospital. As mentioned above, it is ever so easy injecting a cat in the scruff of its neck. Although, because the skin is a wee bit tough, it's easy to accidentally push the needle straight out the other side.

How to give subcutaneous fluids to your cat | International Cat Care

I'll post back in a short while, I have the link to an emergency pet treatment fund charity somewhere. Brian will be watching over you.

It's been almost 36 hours and he is eating and using the litter box. He just woke me to feed him so right now so I think he feels alot better than yesterday.
But as MyrnaFaye said even after thowing up lilies can continue to do damage.
I was pretty exhausted and past out at 6pn right before me husband got home. I think I had been awake for 40 hours straight minus about 3 10 mins naps in that time.

Now that I'm a lil more awake I just wanted to thank everyone who has been replying.

I put the lily in 3 garbage bags just to be safe and threw it in the garbage can outside so I can't take a picture of it but it looked exactly like the one in this picture. Also the label on the plastic pot said asiatic lily.

Such beautiful plants and one of my favourites, but it's frightening how toxic they are to cats! I'm glad your cat is doing better. He certainly looks good in that last photo. This must've been an exhausting experience. Not a good way to spend Easter!

Im glad your cat is doing better! He seems to have improved. Whenever you are able to I would very strongly suggest bringing him in for bloodwork to check and see if any kidney damage has been done. Cats are already prone to kidney disease so if there has been any lasting damage you will want to know about it so you can watch it closely and get him on supportive therapies.

Well done for being so vigilant over the disposal of the lily! I often find myself armouring my garbage in fear of an animal or person getting harmed by it once it's found its way onto the dump. And, well done for all your great attention and care of Ducky, he probably owes you his life.

That Ducky's eating his food 36 hours after eating the lily is a very encouraging sign. My beloved, Brian, died just over a year ago from antifreeze poisoning. However, he didn't present with obvious symptoms for 24 hours, by which time it was too late, and he died four days after he had last been outside from catastrophic kidney failure. I know the initial treatment of lily and antifreeze poisoning are different but I take great comfort in the knowledge that Ducky's still nosing you up for attention and food after this length of time. I expect that you will also become hyper-vigilant about possible poisoning threats and symptoms.

This is a link to a thoroughly comprehensive site about chronic kidney disease just in case Ducky should suffer any ongoing kidney problems. To be forewarned is to be forearmed:

Tanya's Comprehensive Guide to Feline Chronic Kidney Disease - Everything You Need to Know to Help Your Cat

And this is a handy wee page about lily poisoning, and poisoning in general, that I've just come across:
