Awww... so cute. :redheartpump: Do they have a home / owner? Or are they ferals?

No, Im pretty certain they do not. They are here twice a day for breakfast & dinner. They also just hang out here on the patio sometimes, or sleep up by a tree. The neighbors said they've been here. The older couple that used to live here used to feed them. Im not sure how often/ or consistent, but I didn't want them to be hungry if they'd been depending on food here. Plus, its nice since I cant get one right now. Rent is ay the top of my budget (expensive here) & if I got one it would be an extra $25/ month.
Plus a $200 non refundable deposit. Id be fine w/ that... even though it'd be free money! But an extra $25/ month as well? I think its Rediculous! I guess because the people here before were not supposed to have any pets, & had 2 dogs & a cat. I guess w/ the ones outside as well is why most of the screens here are torn. Still waiting for those to be replaced.......I guess their cat tore them. So that would also be a consern of mine IF I were able to have one.
So for now, I'll just feed & try to look after these two outside the best I can.
oh, I wouldn't consider them ferrals. I think they are just strays that are a little skiddish.

Awww, poor babies. Hopefully someday you'll be able to fully claim them, but for now giving them love, attention, and of course food, is a pawsitive for all of you. :catlove:

Do you know if they've been spayed/neutered? Also, wondering if your vet would give you flea meds. Plus, since you mentioned mosquitoes in an earlier post, heartworm meds. That is, of course, if you could fit that into your budget. ๐Ÿค—

Honey definitely looks like shes been TNR'd I also think that's why she's a lot more hesitant to get close to me than Panther is.
He definitely needs to be neutered. I just don't know if I could get any group doing it to help. The other issue is, if he is trapped, then I would want someone to be available to come get him ad soon as possible. I wouldn't want him trapped, stressed out, etc... (Besodes the fact that other people live here being condos, if he were vocal for a long time being trapped) Waiting on someone. I'd be affaid to take him in my car in fear of him spraying.
Besides the fact that I'm still working full time, (& have other things going on, Dr.s appts, etc.. finally have my ultrasound scheduled for Fri afternoon!) ) & don't really have the time to go whenever it happens to happen....
I guess I'm just unsure on what to do about it, because of all that. I'd hate for him to not trust me anymore after that as well. :sigh:

I wouldn't worry about him trusting you afterwards, as I think the benefits of getting him neutered would be worth the risk, and as he's so friendly, I'm sure he'd eventually "forgive" you. :catlove:

But since they're not even your cats, that makes it complicated. Hopefully when things in your life calm down, you'll be able to find a rescue group to help you with him. The older he gets, as you know, the greater the chance of him starting to spray, which the other condo owners would not like, not to mention roam and possibly get into fights with other tom cats, so hopefully a rescue group would make him a priority.

Good luck with your appointment(s). ๐Ÿค—

Thank you! Yes, I know. Hopefully once "kitten season" slows down, I'll be able to actually get someone on the phone.
I haven't told my vet about them yet. I'll have to email her sometime & fill her in. Maybe give her this link to read when she can scroll through. Shes definitely busy with two human little boys at home.
I'm not sure if they'd help me w/ anything, since I'm not a rescue.
Things are a little tight after losing 3 clients, but just started a new monthly one today.
(A cpl from my parents church). Hoping to get approved for some assistance w/ the GYN specialist & Ultrasound bill, & definitely praying that right ovary won't need any kind of proceedure. ....๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ™

.... And, I've been here for 3 months now, & they've been pretty consistent in their hanging out here. For a couple of wks, Panther would show up one day, miss the next, then two days on & off, but thats it. Honey has only not shown up on one day, & one morning....๐Ÿคท

Kelly, if you can borrow a trap from someone (Maybe your vet? Most vets have traps) I have lots of tips for keeping a cat calm and quiet in a trap and for protecting your car from pee.

Let us know what you decide to do. TNR can be nerve-racking at first, but it's not as difficult as you think. And the cats always forgive you.

Thank you so much. I appreciate the support. Im also not sure how long after a neuter he will be able to go back outside? I just can't risk keeping him here while he heals. That's why I think it'd be better if a person who already does TNRs could do it. Then just bring him back here afterwards.

My feral boys were all trapped in the evening, taken to the clinic at 8.30 am, picked up at 5 pm and released as soon as it started to get dark.

I kept the girls in for longer, but it's much simpler to neuter than it is to spay.

Ok, thats good to know. I knew it wouldn't be the same as a female, since easier, but wasn't sure.

I don't think you have to worry too much since it looks like he already feels comfortable around you. :heartshape: But I do understand your apprehension and hope you can make it work for Panther's benefit.:crossfingers:

Happy Caterday! I've had a great morning with Panther! He was being silly, so we had some play time before and after breakfast. :). Afterwards, I rewarded him with some treats and I finally got to give him a FEW kisses on his head!! So I managed to get a picture! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
Today, I also have to go get the second dose of dewormers for them from the farmers supply store, so brought a fancy feast can of fish & shrimp to mix it with for them. (Also have a can of tuna, to use the juice of, so they hopefully get it all w/o to much tasting it ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž)

Uhm ... so when are you going to break the news to Panther that's he's just a stray cat, and not your furbaby. The way he's progressing, with head bumps, kisses, and running around the apartment like he lives there, I'd say he's beginning to think otherwise. :catman: :redheartpump::petcat:

I know. He's a little tough. He can still be a little tricky. We had a good play session again this morning. I actually managed to try & shut the door. He did ok, as long as I kept him distracted. Went in my room to make my bed to see if he'd follow. He didn't. I came out and he was laying on the rug, but when he saw me, he ran under the table. I walked over and said, "whats wrong buddy? It's just me." He hissed and ran to the door, so I let him out.
I'm still trying to work with him, in hopes I'll be able to handle him, so I can take him to be fixed, but think its still going to be a while.

It's also hard, because I'd consider, maybe talking him in, but would feel bad about Honey. I wouldn't want to leave her out there alone w/o him. I can't even get her to come close enough to work with. She'll rarely get up to only a foot or two away, if I'm giving treats & am sitting inside the door. Then if I even move a little, she's backing up & away.
I definitely couldn't afford two, thats for sure! I really can't afford one, as far as rent going up, etc... So I figure this way, I am at least getting them more socialized, able to pet, so hopefully I can handle if needed.
It's just a hard situation to be in.

He's also such a wild, wide open boy! I don't know if I could play with him enough to get all that out every day! He's something!

When I was ready and able, I wanted to adopt a kitten, in hopes to be able to bring them up being used to being handled. To be able to do everything I needed. Nail trims, teeth brushing, etc... It's just not possible right now. Especially w/ these two outside.
Im pretty sure that's why all the screens here have a tear or hole, because there was a cat here, & was probably stressed w/ the two being outside.
