I'm not really a fan of country music, but the song generator found this Carrie Underwood song, and since it's kinda catchy, and fits a theme, I'll post it.

Southbound - Carrie Underwood (2019)

And this from George Michael (RIP):

Just got this album today and am listening to it as I type this post.

Jorma Kaukonen & Jack Casady - Before We Were Them

If these names don't ring a bell for you, Jorma and Jack were the guitarist and bass player for Jefferson Airplane. They then went on to found Hot Tuna. This album is from a performance before they had actually formed Hot Tuna.

It's pretty much been in my head most of the day.
Thankfully, it was gone from my head by the time I went to bed. It'a so annoying having an ear worm when you're trying to get to sleep.

Not bad. A bit too much instrumental for me though.

Never heard of Hot Tuna. Wonder if they play "cat music". :catman:

:musicnote: ~ The Association - live @ The Coconut Grove / Los Angeles CA
Another of those classic 60's songs. :musicnote:

So tomorrow is New Music Theme day. Everyone excited? :D

Meanwhile, here's another 60's song.

Pleasant Valley Sunday - The Monkees (1967)

I'm in the mood for sharing a few songs from one of my most favourite groups of all time. I could actually share their entire discography without thinking twice, but it would be more reasonable to do one at a time.

For those who have never heard of them, they're Canadian twin sisters and probably best known for singing Everything is Awesome from the first Lego Movie. :hyper:

Tegan and Sara - My Number (2000, folk rock/singer/songwriter/???? They were only 20 when this came out.)

I greatly dislike cover songs 99% of the time, especially Fleetwood Mac covers (I feel like nobody can really do the songs justice).

This one is an exception; I'd say it's fantastic.

Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Amanda Shires, and Natalie Hemby - The Chain (Fleetwood Mac cover)

A Million Years - Teddy Geiger

Think Twice - Eve 6

Ad for my last number I'm going to end tonight midway through page 68. I'm slowly gaining.

Grrrr-rrr. I wrote a long reply, commenting on the recent songs, and when I hit post reply, I'd been logged out of the site and had to log back in. When I logged back in, my reply was gone. :(

So to generalize... I liked the Tegan and Sara song, as well as the Fleetwood Mac cover. The Taylor Swift video is cool. The Teddy Geiger video is unavailable. And the Eve 6 song was pretty good.

Now, what everyone has been waiting for - the New Music Theme. :musicnote:

Yessssssssss

I have been WAITING to post this song. It was a guilty pleasure in college along with the Shaniqua song I posted back in girl's names.

(...The song does mention dv if that's a trigger for anyone. Fair warning.)

Goodbye Earl - Dixie Chicks

I have a list, but I'll save some for later!

The Teddy Geiger video is unavailable.
When that happens to me I just look up the song on youtube.

What is it with boy's names and murder in songs? Let's end the night with a couple more - though these ones aren't victims, unlike Earl.

Mack the Knife - Bobby Darrin

Maxwell's Silver Hammer - the Beatles

There are a million songs on page 68.

It'll go faster once you get to the pages with lots of lyrics quoted.

Even my JBJ one was about Billy the Kid.

Here's one not about murder, however, according to Google it is about a struggling Vietnam vet, so still not a happy song.

Daniel - Elton John (1973)

Page 68 is the Canada Day page and you have like eight songs per comment! A little overboard, there. :p The music is good, but I think that's why this page is taking so long (that and I don't have as much time to listen at the beginning of the week)

Let's do some Taylor Swift this morning.

Tim McGraw
