Show Me Your Kitties Show Me Your Kitties - You watched The Witcher, right? I'm watching it now but I'm so confused. Is the story alternating between different time lines or is this a flashback of some sort? I don't get what is happening.
Basically from what I learned (because I was so confused and looked it up), the scenes with Geralt and Yen are years in the past, while Ciri is the present day. It all comes together in the last episode where everyone is now in the present. It would probably make more sense during a rewatch knowing what I know now, but I still didn't like how the multiple timelines were handled because of how confusing it was, though once I understood Geralt and Yen were the past it made a little more sense. I believe the first season itself follows a series of short stories the author of the Witcher wrote.

Someone more familiar with the books themselves could probably explain it better and correct any mistakes I made, but that's just what I have come to understand through looking it up.

There's also this article which might help though probably has spoilers:

Witcher timeline

A alicia John could contact Child Protective Services and tell them about the neglect. No child should be wearing crusty panties, smell bad, and watch GTA,. He would not have to pay anything. They would make an unannounced visit to Aislyn's house and do an assessment. Wouldn't go over big with her mother but it would be a first step.

Yep, for workplace safety purposes, vaping is treated the same as smoking. Pursue it with OSHA if you have to.

To be fair, I find vape odor to be much less allergenic than smoke. Tobacco smoke makes my throat close up immediately. Vapor is only mildly irritating, like an air freshener. Granted, breathing in anything that isn't pure air is not good for your lungs, but second-hand vapor is definitely better than second-hand smoke.
I'm glad vaping exposure is less invasive for you. My asthma isn't allergy related, but was exercise induced when I had symptoms. Although, I was on an everyday maintenance medication for a long time because I would dry cough at night without it. Just because it is "better" doesn't mean it is okay to breathe in, like you mentioned about air that isn't pure. I'm not going to rationalize that it should be safer for me. Myself and other workers and customers deserve to have a smoke-free place because there are laws to ban smoking for a reason as it has shown to cause health effects second-hand. Anyway, vaping is still new, and I'd like to see long-term studies on health effects. I wonder since people think it is "safer" if people who vape expose more people to it because they don't think it is a big deal. At my school I've had people walking in front of me vape, which ends up in me breathing a full breathe as I walk into the cloud unknowingly. People who smoke cigarettes went to the smoke spot, and I could avoid breathing it in. My campus is smoke-free, but people who vape seem to think they are exempt and take 1-2 puffs at a time while commuting between classes. I've even seen someone in one of my classes while in the classroom take a puff before class started.

This is also a really heated topic for me because when my asthma kept getting worse when growing up, my dad refused to stop smoking in the house and my mom said my dad made his decision, so that was that and didn't fight to protect me. So this is a topic I get really emotional about. I know you are trying to make me feel better about exposure, but vaping is still a health hazard. Your reasoning that vaping is better is geared more towards people that are smoking and want something less harmful to themselves and could be great advice for current smokes. Although, I do not smoke and do not want exposure to anything that could harm my health, especially when people are ignoring the laws in place to protect me and others who do not want exposure.

But thank you for sharing your views, and for mentioning the OSHA thing. If it is a small, independent store, are they still under OSHA?

Maybe. It's hard to find a direct answer. Businesses with less than 10 employees are partially exempt from OSHA requirements, but they still need to provide a safe working environment for their employees. And some states have smokefree public laws, but I don't know who you'd contact for that.

A nearby office had an issue with a vaper before the regulations were clarified. He was vaping inside, claiming it was harmless, but the obnoxiously sweet odor annoyed some of the other employees, so it had to be clarified that, yes, vaping counts as smoking, and no smoking is allowed in the workplace.

I really wish they had handled the timelines better. I am still so confused because they keep jumping back and forth without any contrast whatsoever. At least if they have changed the shape of the frame and the colour scheme of past events to something more monochromatic, I would be able to differentiate between past and present but the constant jumps with out any indication of which scene is for which timeline is very annoying. They also could have contrasted with the actors themselves, showing changes in age. But they look exactly the same throughout. I like it so far and this is my only complain with The Witcher.

Yennefer's eye also keep changing colour and once you notice it, you can't unnoticed it. I don't know if it has to do with the story or if it's just an error. Same thing with Gerald and Ciri. At some points, it looks like they're wearing contacts and at other points, it looks like their natural eye colour.

segelkatt segelkatt I'm so sorry you don't like Nevada. Maybe you could join a club or something. Check out their
library. Maybe they have a garden club or something like that
I've already joined the online Garden Club of Northern Nevada but people seem to be reluctant to meet anyone in person . There was one who seemed to be interested but she had just moved here from Arizona, lives at the other end of town and from her posts I see that she has a whole lot more money than I do and her attitude shows it, going on about how she has bought this and that for the plants she has brought with her etc. No way could I not only compete with her but even just keep up with that. Sunroom? I barely have enough windows to keep my plants alive. Windows and heating in the garage? Mine is pitch dark and not tight.
Another one who seemed interested to meet in person is quite young with small children, apart from gardening I don't think we'll have much in common but I will certainly try, perhaps her parents would be interested as they would be more my generation.
I find the area quite beautiful, the river going through town is quite an attraction but the people are rude and unfriendly, they don't like people from California and make no bones about it, saying there are too many rules Californians want to impose (like lots of recycling of which there is a lot of lip service here but very little action, and limits on pollution, Reno actually has smog like Los Angeles used to have, etc) although they would be good for everybody. They trash the desert with stuff they can't find a place to depose of, stuff like electronics that they have to pay for to get recycled. Same for any and all plastic that does not fit in the garbage cans with the lid down. People's side yards are full of stuff like that because they find it too expensive to take to the dump where there is another charge and some things you can't dump either so you are stuck with it. This of course impacts the people the most who can't afford to have to pay to get stuff recycled. I have a huge pile of crushed boxes from moving that my son will have to take to the dump when he is in town which means renting a pickup and then paying to have them take the boxes at the dump, they are too big and too many to fit in the recycling bin. This is insane and not good for the environment.
Law enforcement apparently is not great either, scofflaws all over the place, when someone ripped the electric mirrors off my car and damaged the paint on the door and bumper in broad daylight in a grocery parking lot, police would not come, told me I should make a report via internet which was very difficult so that I gave up on that, damage was not enough to make a claim with my insurance and my son put new mirrors on my car himself but they are black on my white car as that was the only color available.
In general, when someone moves out of the neighborhood, even just across town, but certainly out of that neighborhood, they are not seen again, maybe keep up via internet for a while, because across town is "too far" to visit, dang, the whole town is not more than 10 miles across and there is one ring road around the whole town and two big freeways that cross in the center so nothing takes more than 10 minutes to get there. People seem to be stuck in a rut from a young age on and have no intention to change anything no matter how good it is.
I will give this place one year for me to get used to it, if not then I will see what I can do to get out of here. So far I think this is a nice place to visit but not to live here, at least not in Reno, maybe other places are better.

Yeah, people do that here too. They'll dump their couch in any random ravine, because the garbage collector will charge extra to take it away. It really makes it look trashy, but. . .FREEDOM! I guess. If you object they say you're a dang socialist :/.

OK, here goes, this was called "Raymond Evans' Jack Daniels Whiskey Fudge"

5 cups sugar
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 cup whole milk
1 1,2 teaspoons vanilla extract
25 large marshmallows ripped in half or equivalent small ones
11.5 ozs 60% cocoa bittersweet chocolate chips
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3/4 cup Jack Daniels whiskey or any whiskey you really like as you will really taste it

Whisk whiskey with the powdered sugar, then set aside
foil and butter a 9 X 13 baking pan
Put sugar, butter, milk and vanilla into a large heavy pot with a heavy bottom, stirring steadily over medium heat (so it does not scorch) until it boils, continue stirring while letting it boil for 3 minutes (time it, that is important), then remove from heat.
Add the marshmallows and chocolate, stirring until all of it is melted and blended into the sugar mixture
Give the whiskey mixture a quick stir and add it to the pot, stirring until fully incorporated
Pour it into the greased pan and chill. Let it mellow for at least 24 hours before cutting. Enjoy!

I have also made it with rum instead of whiskey which was quite tasty, and also with brandy which was ok but not great. I would suppose that any strong flavored alcoholic beverage you favor would give satisfactory results.

Anyone who makes it please let me know how you like it.
I wonder how it would taste with Bailey's Irish Cream. I kinda want to try.

Ok, thank you! There are more than 10 employees if the connected restaurant counts. Happy to not notice anyone walking through the store vaping after the manager left today, so hopefully the e-mail helped.

You never know. I had a friend who in her 20's was very good friends with an older women in her 40-50's, and they both enjoyed their friendship. Although, I'm in your boat where too big of an age difference feels weird to me, too.

Wow, can they make it any harder? That's frustrating. You'd think they would want to come out to get details on scene.

That's the pile of presents the kids are opening from us tomorrow evening. We needed to stop by Wal*Mart on Thanksgiving to pick up allergy meds and figured, while we were there, we might as well see what they had. We spent less than $150 on all that. I think we did quite well. Santa got them a few things, too.

I got all that wrapped up and ready for Christmas morning. Santa never brings a whole lot. For one, I want the credit. Two, not all kids are as fortunate as ours - we aren't rich, by any means, but we still manage to get them a good amount of stuff - and I don't want to contribute to hurt feelings or some kids feeling like they weren't "good" if Santa brings one kid a new x-box and they just get socks.
