Oh crap. I wanted to get the turkey out of the freezer and get it into the fridge on Friday night. Forgot about it and remembered as we were about halfway down to the kids Saturday morning. It's a 24-pounder, so it's going to take awhile to completely thaw. As soon as we got home last night, Rick ran downstairs, took Mr. Tom out of the freezer and tucked him into the fridge to start thawing for Thursday. I may have to do some last-minute running cold water thawing on Wednesday night to get it completely thawed out.
I haven't stuffed a turkey in a long time, but I'm considering it this year. I always remember Alton Brown saying "Stuffing is evil!" and the "experts" citing all these statistics for food poisoning from stuffing a turkey. But my mom did it forever and I did it for years and nobody ever got sick. My sister still stuffs her turkey.
Anybody stuff (or refuse to stuff) your turkey?
