Spot On Kitty's Neck

Murphy has this weird spot on his neck. I just noticed it, but I've been busy with a newborn so it's possible it's been there longer and I just missed it. I found a flea yesterday so everyone is gonna get treated again. They're all inside cats and never go outside.
I'm gonna call the vet tomorrow but we don't get paid til Friday, but that's only a day away. Anyone know what this could be?

Is it like a scab or a rash?

Have you put something on the spot before it became bald? any spot-on product or any injection done?
Looks like when I made a shot of antibiotic to my cat Tom. The area became bald and pinkish and remained this way for nearly three months. A reaction to the shot, the vet said.

I would say more of a scab. And no, didn't put anything on it.

Does your cat go outdoors? Could he have gotten in a fight with another cat that resulted in
an infected cut or scar?

Nope, they're all strictly indoor cats and everyone has been fixed. We have 4 cats total, but they all get along for the most part. Mercy, our newest and our only female, still gets a bit testy at times, but she doesn't get vicious.
