I have been an anxious wreck all week (I am an anxious person by nature, but Evie's issues have exacerbated it in a huge way). Tomorrow I'm taking her in to get to the bottom of her chin swelling. New vet, much closer to home...the other office I was taking them to basically pissed me off, so I completely switched her (and Emerson and Dexter) over to a new clinic.
Background: Evie had an abscess on her jaw that burst on its own, as well as a swollen submandular lymph node on that side. Old vet gave her an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory. That spot is healed up, but now the tip of her chin is swollen, and the lymph node remains the same (maybe a tad bit smaller). She is acting 100% normal, eats, plays, seeks out attention, has not lost weight, etc. but Google is a dangerous place when it comes to "lump on cat's jaw"....
Please send good vibes that this is nothing major and that we can have our sweet girl back to 100% soon!
