for you, your partner, your folks, Sam and your other kittysJust thought I would post a quick update. Sam was given another week of Buprinex for pain and I am happy about that because I was afraid of switching him to Metacam. His legs are still not showing any more improvement yet. I am pretty certain his problem is his legs and not in his back because when I play with him now he rolls around on his back with no problems. He seems totally normal until he tries to stand up or walk.
Next week my days off will be taken up with my partner's doctor appointments but I think I will be taking him for an mri the following week.
How adorableUpdate
Sam has improved so much! His walking is sooo much better. And sometimes he is even running. His leg very rarely gives out on him now and on the few occasions that it has, it doesn't seem to be causing him any pain. He will just lay for a second and then hop right back up and continue on his way. It has been 4 days since his last dose of pain meds and he seems pain free. He was self-limiting his movement for a long time but now he has started to use the pet steps again (which I'm happy about) and occasionally jumping up on the couch (which scares me to death for fear of re-injury).
I haven't been able to get an MRI yet. (My partner's many tests and doctor appointments have taken up all my days off and she goes in for surgery to remove a mass next week) So with the improvements I have seen in Sam, I think he will be OK to wait a couple more weeks to see a vet.
He seems to get better every day now!
BTW, here is a pic of my brave little man!

It is going across her uterus and an ovary - they haven't been able to determine which it is attached to. They will be doing a total hysterectomy when they remove the mass. It is growing at a very fast rate and now causing other issues. We will know a week after surgery if it is cancerous or not. Fingers crossed it is just an abnormal fibroid. How adorable
Where is the mass,if you don't mind my asking?
Sam is he. Partner with mass is she.Wait a second, am I missing something? I thought Sam is a male cat. You have been calling the cat, "he" and "him". Now "he" has a uterus? Very possible I am missing something, please explain. I'm feeling stupid but confused. Thanks so much Regardless of the sex, I like everyone else pray the growth is benign!
Fingers crossed and best wishes for you and all your loved ones.It is going across her uterus and an ovary - they haven't been able to determine which it is attached to. Thank you dustydiamond1, I really am an idiot. Good thing I prefaced with me being stupid, so sorry weabeesties, I was obviously not paying close attention. My apologies to you. And please, my best to you all too.Sam is he. Partner with mass is she.
Thanks for your well wishes and totally not your fault for being confused. I probably didn't make myself clear enough. 2018 has not been a good year so far when it comes to the health of my family (feline and human) and I was just trying to respond to dustydiamond1 's very thoughtful inquiry. My bad for "muddying the waters" so to speak.Thank you dustydiamond1, I really am an idiot.
