I love black cats. They are magical. I fostered a baby cat (named El Diablo) from age of 2 weeks until she was 3 months. She stood out from her siblings, such an intelligent and sweet soul. Sadly, she was always rejected for adoption, people wanted a black male cat but not a female. Finally she found a warm home with her sister/best friend.

I love black cats. They are magical. I fostered a baby cat (named El Diablo) from age of 2 weeks until she was 3 months. She stood out from her siblings, such an intelligent and sweet soul. Sadly, she was always rejected for adoption, people wanted a black male cat but not a female. Finally she found a warm home with her sister/best friend.

Awww black cats are the best. I was gifted one at age 4 (though, obviously my guardian cared for the cat and not me). His name was Beeps and he had vocal cord damage from being abandoned in the cold, hence the name. He was around 8 or 9 when he vanished.

Then I got Lily, a female black cat. I had her for more than a decade. She passed in 2020. She was sassy, but an angel to me. We were inseparable.

We got Cal as a homage to Lily. We had to be careful as Magnus can't have one vaccine as he has a heart murmur. So Cal was tested for FIV and FEVL and out of his siblings only males were black and Cal was the best fit his foster thought (and I agree). I always prefer to have a black cat around.

I recommended black cats to anyone. I know two friends adopted black cats in her honour, while she was alive.

my_money_pit I agree about black cats. When we rescued two litters of kittens, I kept the two black ones because I'd heard that for some reason, it was more difficult for them to be adopted. I had two boys in the litter of ten, one who could have passed for a Siamese and the other a Snowshoe up for adoption. They were best friends. It broke my heart to let any of them go, but I thought they were the two who had the best chance. We decided to keep three, but DH went back for Sally because I was afraid she would wait for a long time.

Then the rescue worker said that the boys were wild and would end up as barn cats! I watched them on petfinder and they didn't go together, either. I hope this meant someone made pets of them. They were still very young and we tamed the ones we kept without difficulty. The rescue worker who was helping us said our black kittens would have easily found homes because they were so friendly.

We still worry about the kittens we had to give up.

He's such a dork and a sweetheart, thanks! It was definitely something very important, along the lines of "why haven't you turned the water faucet on yet?"

He likes turning it off, for whatever reason lol.

Voted. This was hard, because all cats have beautiful eyes that you could get lost in, and so all these pictures are naturally beautiful. Makes me wish I could cast 39 votes haha!
