For our November book, we've chosen the one that came in second place in our September 2020 voting poll. This 2018 novel has been on the New York Times bestsellers list for 107 weeks! Per Wikipedia, it sold more print copies in 2019 than any other adult title, fiction or non-fiction. It is being adapted to film, and will be produced by Reese Witherspoon's production company.

The book for November 2020 is
Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

We will be reading it between November 1st and November 21st
Discussion will begin on November 22nd.

Everyone is invited to read along with us, and join the discussion. See you in November. :read:

I've ordered the book (secondhand on Ebay) and looking forward to receiving the copy as I finished Killing Me Softly far too soon! :)
Hopefully it won't arrive too quickly, or you'll be tempted to start it, before we even start discussing the Oct book. ;)

My book arrived today from eBay! Have to say your little online community has brought me so much joy the last few months. Being a solo parent to my lovely daughter makes socialising hard enough. But with the Corona pandemic it’s been down right impossible. So a massive thank you for making me feel welcome and I can’t wait to start this book and discuss with you all ❤ 📚🤓

I might join in on this one. The description you posted says similar to Barbara Kingsolver books. I didn't realize she was a fiction author (duh!) I read a book by her years ago called Animal, Vegetable, Miracle about how her and her family went quasi off grid and produced their own food for a year - could only eat that, whatever is local and a few pantry staples. It's been forever since I read it but I still think about it and want to get to that level someday! (Sorry to kind of change topic...)

I hope you do. You know, the more the merrier. :)

That book sounds really interesting, and as Hoopla has it, I might read it sometime. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle at Hoopla

I'm going to borrow the e-book from the library in a few days. They have 140 copies, and 4 currently available, so I don't think I'll have any wait time to get it.

I will have to join you on the discussion. I didn't like that book. At all.
I'm having difficulty reading it. Having tried to force myself to read one chapter a day, it's taken me nearly three weeks to reach chapter 7 or 8 and now I can*t find the book anywhere. I hope the story doesn't end like I think it might. Perhaps when I finish the loop I'm knitting for my daughter, I'll feel more like reading further.

Are you finding it boring?
