Awww, I enjoyed watching this story unfold and LOVED this pic with that tail!! Cats act kind of like dogs act after a bath when you clean the room/house, don't they? They seem to notice, and like it. I always look forward to checking your pictures. I hope your phone issues are solved soon so posting isn't so burdensome for you! Hope your week ahead is much smoother!

Wanda Heart conquered the big bird and decided to play. I think the combination of feathers and catnip won her over but she has no interest in the end that looks at her! I’ll be keeping that in mind with future toy purchases. She wasn’t scared of Winnie the Pooh but he already smelled like kitties. Big bird eyes and her first scent of catnip made her suspicious. Her feral instincts are still working! Smart girl.
The catnip bird may be going to another kitty! Lol Precious would love it.

They do grow up so fast! Now that life is stable for Wanda Heart she is doing much better. It’s amazing what care and love can do. It’s good for us all.

That bird's eyes are shaped somewhat like cat eyes, but Pooh's are not. That may be the difference in how Wanda Heart perceives them. Glad to hear she's decided to accept Bird, though -- what a great toy!
You Dad was a pilot? I love flying. The view of the clouds and sky is so amazing. As a kid I always imagined what it must feel like to be a bird. Lol Boats and ships played a big part in my life. To me, sailing a small sailboat felt a bit like flying. I loved doing that. I wish I still had a way to do that but I’ll never forget the times I did get to do it.
The vibrations of purrs reminded me of a song. I’ll see if I can post it and post a link.
The cats are very funny after a deep cleaning here. It’s like everything is new to them again. I always get a lot of happy tails flying around which cracks me up!
*PRAYERS* for Macaroni's injury to heal so he does not have to have an amputation! If he does, though, may it be successful.

I want to address your post first. Prayers hope, healing and love sent to Macaroni. It looks like he has had a very hard time. Poor sweet one. I agree that sometimes a break is greatly needed. Burn out and exhaustion is a very real risk. As an experienced human caregiver I found that taking a break allowed me to return with renewed strength. You have been going non stop for a very long time. You deserve a breather. Prayers, hope, strength and rest sent to you.
They are sisters under the fur! I wonder what they would do if they met each other? I kind of imagine it would be like a reunion.

Very good observation. The toy bird does have eyes more like a cat. You know, Wanda Heart was scared of the eyes on my “Oscar the Grouch” shirt too. Hmmmm. Pooh just has little black button eyes. You got me thinking about this so I gathered each item to look at this carefully. I also added a picture I had laying around of a cat. Not an Acurate portrayal but I just wanted to see how Wanda Heart would react. Here are the different items. 
I’m not sure but my guess is the way the expression or “body language” is perceived. I think you brought up a good comparison. Giant dilated pupils in a cat indicate that the cat is excited and maybe ready to attack something so maybe that’s what scared her. It’s very interesting. In the future I will not buy toys with large black , cat pupils! Wanda Heart is not loving the bird! Maybe if I alter the eyes......
So sorry. I pray that something good can happen for this little sweetie.

That’s a good idea. The big kitties like the bird but they have been in from outside a lot longer than Wanda Heart. I thought it was a great toy too. I had given the kitties one like it about a year ago. Precious and Folly got it out of the bag before I had a chance to. Lol I didn’t even get a chance to remove the tag before they ran off with it.
It will be. STILL high 80s low 90s here, but that should change over the next two weeks.
My dad was a pilot, and taught flying for many years. I actually got my pilot's license on my 16th birthday, and my driver's license the next week. It always tickled me that I could legally fly before I could legally drive! However, Dad retired when I was 21, and the plane rental and gas was too expensive for me to keep my hours up, and I had to let my license lapse. I really miss flying.
Poor baby. But remember...within DAYS of the surgery, maybe even hours, he'll be getting around like he never had more than three legs! And for some reason, three-legged cats can be very popular at adoption events.
