I was told by the woman I got her from she is a purebred Maine Coon, what do you guys think? she is about 5 months old and all the lady had on site were cats that look just like her. She makes some of the chattering noises, and really likes playing in water LOL she will climb right into the bathtub with me! Very mischievous kitten! Her name is Pixie.

she looks right. They should be solid in the body but there are no particular shapes other then huge to define a Maine Coon. That water behavior is classic. A lot "not all" Coons have lynx tips. that is a tuft of hair that sticks out from the tip of their ears. They also at seventeen weeks old are about the size of a normal eight week old kitten. They dont reach their full growth till they are over a year to two years old.The tail will come into its fluffyness by oneish. She sounds quirky and interesting. Plus she is cute. win win all around.

He looks Maine Coonish, he does. He may even be MCO.  But such ladies telling they are purebreed because they are having a bunch of similiar kittens aint no good proof. Unless you KNOW she is a reputable breeder, but by some good reason dont sent the pedigree certificate with you.

This with pure breeds and pedigree certificate, is a little like with noble-ship.  It is NOT enough to look noble. Many commoners do.  It is not even enough to BE noble.  Quite a few commoners are. You must have the right papers, registered at the right place, preferably for many generations back. (Pedigree at a recognized Association).  It is first then you are nobleman / noblewoman for real!.  If so, you dont even need to have the perfect looks, if the ancestry is right and proven.

You wont win Shows, you perhaps wont get married, but you are anyway recognized and politely called for Sir or Lady, respective.   :)

You got a nice kitten, so you do have now a furry friend for the nearest 15-20 years.   :)

Good luck!

You Manizheh mean the other way around?  At eight they are as big as many others at 17?

Or do you mean it literally; they are extremely slow gainers, but when they are done and fully grown up, then!
