I just posted on another thread that the difference between medicine and poison is the dose. In Betty's case, she already had a hairball chew in the morning. She didn't need not one more but two more in the evening. It's entirely possible that a single Greenie without the VT hairball chew could be therapeutic as intended. But unless and until Betty proves to me that the VT chew is not working, we won't test that theory.

So stop worrying about it. I gave her too much. That's on me. Not you.

Having emptied herself, she proceeded to work on the next poop with a full 38 gram lunch portion. Her "later" dregs probably don't add up to two grams. I will likely have to sneak her a tiny bumper portion later. She'll make up for Tuesday. 🐷👍
Bon appetit, Betty beauty! :hearthrob: :kneading::hearthrob:

Even the Bissell is having hairballs. 🤦🏼‍♂️😹

Finally did a full pass on the office. Just in time for a heat wave next week. Maybe she gets 2 VT chews/day next week.

Oh, this post made me lol, so hard. :spew::crackup::lol:
"Even the Bissell is having hairballs. 🤦🏼‍♂️😹"
:yeah: :flail::crackup:
That Bissell is great. It's doing it's job right. I kind of wish they made them like 'roombas'...but lower in price.

However, I do have to point out...that I do not think that all that debris is actual hairballs. :headshake: 🤔

If we would take a poll, and would have to guess at the contents of what's in the bag...then my guess would be:
40% Betty's fur
10% carpet fibers
10% daftcat
10% dust...since how in heavens name...does dust end up everywhere, all the time. (I know it's science, and I think I don't want to know what dust is made up of.) 🤭🤢😧
30% lint....because....how can we always wash and dry our clothes...and still have tons of lint...in the lint trap...as though we were brushing our animals during shedding season. 🤔
Why do some of our clothes...give off lint...like they want to 'self-destruct'..yet there are no obvious holes in them. 🧐🤨
I know, I know,...it's science, fabric composition, etc, etc.

Anyhow, just wanted to say that your place is super clean, now, and motivates me, to 'go around and dust' now.

I know, I know! My least favorite job around the house is dusting. WHERE does it all come from? *Rhetorical.*
Some people think shorthaired cats never need brushing and that they don't shed much.
HAH!

Yeah, well, you know what they say: Life's messy. Clean it up:sigh:

Hahaha,...yeah,...but at least you guys all have different coloured cats. Mine are black cats. :blackcat::blackcat: and a black dog. :bluepaw:
So when they come out looking 'greyish' from under the beds, or umm...sofa...then I know I have NOT done a good cleaning job.
For whatever reason, this year, my cats seem to be shedding, and shedding and shedding.

I love your "Life's Messy. Clean it up." ...quote. :cloud9: :)
I am going to put that up on my 'motivation wall quotes', now.
(Though, I think I should put it up, everywhere, to inspire more cleaning.
Daftcat's photo cleaning is inspiring, too.) :clover:

I went to weigh her and the scale says she’s lost a whole pound since last week. 😳 That’s not right. Well. She already finished the kibble so there’s no way to get her back on without more kibble. And I don’t want a repeat of last weekend’s regurgitation. This is why we are doing the weigh-in an hour earlier than lunch now. Luckily she sat up and was fully on the platform. So I simply turned it off, turned it on, and then scooted her off. -9.440. That sounds better! So she actually gained 0.02 lbs since last week’s 9.42 reading. That makes sense. Her daily caloric average was 174 calories. She took enough bumper portions to make up for the two missed meals. At this weight, her inflection point for weight loss vs weight gain seems right around 172 calories per day. We’ll keep aiming for 175 to 180 with the expectation that she’ll level out just a little north of where she is now. To weather out the bad days. 🐷👍

That's more like it, Ms. Betty! Looking very glamourous there, too. Wishing you both a relaxing Sunday with lots of fussing, fooding and whatever else makes for wonderful Sundays. :hearthrob::zzzcat::hearthrob:

Recently captured. The car is a stepping stone between the bed and her cloud so she doesn’t have to leap that gap. It’s fun to see her sitting on top of it though. 🐈🚖🦖

She has a smaller portion (reduced to account for weigh-in kibble) set out right now for lunch. I’m going for a run even though my back is still tight. It’s actually tighter sitting around than moving. I figure the increased blood and oxygen flow will do my back some good. When I get back and after I’ve showered, I’ll probably sneak Betty a bumper portion before I go out for my burger and beer.

For right now, I don’t think I’m getting Betty off her cloud. I did just vacuum. She’s probably thinking, “Oh bother! Would you leave already so I can take a pre-lunch nap? Your cleaning chores really took it out of me.” 😹

I get home from the run and find her lunch gone. 🐷👍 I plate the bumper and find her awake and mouthy in the poof. “Now?” Yes. Now. Didn’t you hear your running water cue? I give her a couple of scritches and trust she’ll figure it out when she’s ready. To the shower because that’s two lunch portions for Betty and still none for me. By the time I emerge from the shower and dressed, Betty has finished the bumper and she’s fast asleep from poof to cloud by way of plate. 🐷💤 It made it that much easier for me to sneak out for the rest of the afternoon. I’m glad we understand our roles around here. 😹

I call this: “Your workday has really kicked my butt.”
5D5C7004-8F9E-422F-A786-BC04F2055D6F.jpeg

She got an extra half a hairball treat this afternoon. Getting her gut ready for the upcoming heat wave and hoping to avoid another heatwave hairball.

I also have her on a smaller Mirataz dose. It doesn’t seem like she needs the full dose. About 2/3 the dose now. This is day three of the smaller dose. I can always bump it back up if her appetite starts to lag.

She’s also got prior doses crusted on. We are going to have to try harder to wash ears between doses. 🙉😾

Betty Bright-Eyes, hoping you do not have a heatwave hairball! and that you keep eating well and keeping that. "Put the food in the cat."
Hoping you tolerate the ear-washing well, too. :hearthrob: :lovecat3::hearthrob:

She had an extra long poop this morning. Still well-formed. I think the extra half treat combined with the bumper portions created a larger than usual cat cast this morning.

Waiting on the ear cleaning. I probably need to prepare some ear tea (chamomile with a touch of apple cider vinegar) and I'll probably need to purrito her. I'm not looking forward to the ear cleaning. She can be a feisty one. I look at last week's specialist appointment as something of a success because we got a nail clipping out of it. 😹

Yeah, sometimes (I used to say "often"...:sigh:) good can come out of/in relation to not-so-good. I'm always looking for it.
She may not like purrito-ing, but we both know she's adorable when purrito-ed.
I wonder if Longcat leaves long scat. :insertevillaugh:

So she didn’t need the puritto. She sat mostly still for several passes. I know she was hungry. The real reason she came to see me. So I called it good on two passes on each ear. And just to show her we’re in this together, I took a couple pads and cleaned my ears too. 😹👍

So I plated her lunch and then had to get back to work stuff. I thought she’d eat half or 2/3 and save the rest for later. It looks like she only took a coupe paw swipes and called it good. I wonder what’s going on in her head or the food when she decides it’s paw swipe time instead of eating “normally” from the plate. Anyway. Gotta remind myself that a. She’s sleeping hard on her cloud and a nauseated Betty would be hugging the ground instead. And b. She has all day and she’s up about half a portion (at least) on the week already with bumpers.
