I was also going to suggest a hidden dental problem. At 15, her teeth could definitely be getting fragile and prone to fracturing. Happened to mine last year (at age 14); he had refused (or been unable) to eat for a day when I took him to a vet who quickly glanced in his mouth when I suggested it and said "looks fine." After another night of no eating or drinking (I was using a dropper to get fluid into him), I got a second opinion; this vet looked more carefully and found not only a broken molar, but an abscess starting. Had to have it surgically removed, but he made a full recovery. He now eats only wet food. I would pursue that possibility until it was definitively ruled out. Good luck!

Yes, maybe. I wanted to go in for her mouth check and see and ensure the vet did a thorough look but because they did a free nurse appointment, I couldn't go in as there were no rooms.

She was doing so well. She had pain meds Mon-Wed last week. Friday, she was showing less interest in her wet food and yesterday significantly less. She will still eating kibble. Today, she still hasn't finished her 1/2 can of wet food and she just started hiding under the bed this afternoon. I just don't know what to think. I don't know what to do.

I would take her to the vet -- a cat specialist, if possible, and an emergency clinic, if necessary (holiday weekend) -- and INSIST they totally rule out a dental problem. Then go from there. Good luck!

The cat only vet is only open Mon, Tues, Thurs right now but I may call and inquire with them or get a second opinion.

If she weren't eating at all, I would take her back to emerg of course, but since she is still eating kibble, I am somewhat less concerned. She's not not eating her wet food, she is just eating less of it. That's what started this whole debacle in the first place. I thought I was getting on top of something catching it early but I feel like I just made it worse taking her in.

Then again my partner and I are watching her closely now and noticed her not quite limping but not wanting to put all her weight on her right leg/foot. We found something stuck between her little toesies, so we're hoping that's all that was.... but then I noticed two of her nipples look irritated like they were nicked when they shaved her for the ultrasound. :ohwell: I'm not feeling terribly impressed with this vet at the moment.
