A cat came in our house thru doggy door.
I dontd know if she is pregnant...
But, after 3 big males were hanging around every night, all night, for two nights... fighting and growling... they disappeared completely...

I never saw a nipple before, now 2wks later, she was licking her stomach, and has one pink nipple, noticable enough, that it causes her long fur to seperate.

she's a stray, about 8mo's old, and has an appt to be spayed April 16th.

Since she hasn’t been spayed, she is probably pregnant. Cats are very prolific breeders. You usually see “pinking up” about 2-3 weeks into gestation, so that fits with your timeline. This article has more information on what to look for: How To Tell If My Cat Is Pregnant?

If you’d like, you can try to see if you can get her spay appointment moved earlier. If she is, in fact, pregnant, as I suspect, it would become a spay/abort.

thank you, is the nipple normally pink, if they are not pregnant?
I keep hoping Im just paranoid, but I have never seen her nipples before.
and 1hr ago, she was eating grass , when I took her out Togo potty
she has never eaten grass.
ugh.
that cat came in the doggy door, and there was a 1 minute fight before I broke it up and ran him out.
can it happen that fast?

she was bleeding on her back and forehead

If she goes outside, and isn't spayed, she's pregnant. And, yes, mating is very quick for cats. It might not have happened right when he came inside, but some other time when she went outside.

Usually it's about 3 weeks before their nipples pink up, so she might be farther along than you thought. If you don't want kittens, you can have her spayed right now, and that will terminate the pregnancy. She'll be too far along on April 16th, so if that's your choice try to get an appointment as soon as possible. I mean, some vets will still do it, but it's less safe for her and of course it may be distressing to abort the kittens that far along.

oh boy, the cat came in my kitchen and attacked her around February 20th through February 28th.
not exactly sure which day.

and it was March 12th, I noticed her throwing up for the first time, ever, for a couple days...

and March 13th was when I looked at her tummy and saw bright pink nipples.

about March 21st, I noticed her tummy getting a little round, and it's hard to tell because she is so black.

now, it's April 4th and I felt movement in her tummy yesterday, and it's a lot more round.

so I'm looking at...

1 week of February...
4 weeks in March ...
now, 1 week of April...

so it's been 6 weeks?

like I said, I felt baby's moving yesterday, April 3rd...

I'm calling my vet tomorrow, to let them know that I can't have her spayed April 16th, and I will make an appointment to have her a checkup

so, I'm worried about when she may be due. I've never raised a cat before, and I already screwed up raising her as a boy, thinking she was a boy... and now I have a girl and she's pregnant and I'm terrified...

here is a picture of her yesterday, I took the picture from above while she was drinking water.

Yeah, 6 weeks seems about right. That's when the kittens really start growing. She'll just blow up in the next 3 weeks! By the end it'll look like she swallowed a basketball :D.

Can you keep her 100% inside now? You definitely want to get her comfortable with staying in, and she'll need to stay in through nursing and until she's spayed.

Cat gestation lasts an average of 64 days, or a little over nine weeks. Since she’s about at 6 weeks now, it will probably be about 3 weeks until delivery.

I asked dozens of questions at the vet today...

except I didn't think of this one...

the vet says that LeonLeo having seven or eight kittens...

does she have enough nipples to nurse 8 kittens?

tthe vet says she'll have them by this weekend, and she's 57 days today, does that sound okay?

Good question! The actual nipples on a cat can vary. The average is six, but some have more. The thing is that the babies will not always be feeding at the same time all of the time. You will have to keep an eye out to ensure they all nurse. Make sure you can distinguish all of them from one another so you know that that are all feeding. It is possible you may have to help out with bottle/dropper feedings if need be. And, make sure mama has ALL the food she wants - she will need it, as all mamas do!

Cats have 8 nipples so yes she has enough. Make sure to monitor the kittens' weights closely to make sure they're all gaining and that she's producing enough milk. Feed her a good quality kitten food, all she wants to eat, until the babies are weaned around 6 weeks old.

thanks so much,

that's a great idea.

I thought I asked everything at the vet today, but went in thinking I would be told she's going to have two or three babies ...not eight.

and a friend asked today if she's going to have enough nipples and I'm like
"well shoot , what the heck am I going to do?"

this is my first cat.

and my first babies.

and I am nervous as heck

she is on Purina kitten chow, and I keep an unlimited supply out for her. she is 58 days now, and the vet said by the end of the week.

I'm just worried because she's so young and small...
