I need a salmon recipe for a cat with SEVERE chicken allergy. I’m experienced making homemade food using Dr Lisa Pierson’s recipe on catinfo.org. Since 2017 I make 300 pounds every 5 week. Turkey is out, risk is too great. I’ve consulted vet allergy specialist re possibility of being allergic to turkey & other poultry. She doesn’t like rabbit foods.
Nutrition Info shows Vitamin A higher than chicken, protein higher. I have access to salmon. What ingredients do I need other than salmon, taurine? Vitamin B?

You can't just give fish sorry. Have you tried proteins like rabbit, venison?

She does not like rabbit. Why is salmon with bones not a source of protein? Planned on adding Taurine, Vitamin B. Salmon has 25 grams vs 23 grams in chicken thighs, so i don’t understand why there is a problem with the protein. I was concerned about calcium and phosphorus ratios, vitamin A, and fat

If is extremely difficult not to mention expensive to find an all meat wet food that does NOT contain chicken.
Canned food runs $70-$80 for a 12 pack of 6oz cans.

I would be most worried about the salmon causing a thiamine deficiency. But I see conflicting reports on whether it contains thiaminase. It's ok to feed sparingly as a treat but not daily. Have you tried beef, pork, duck?

you're right that it is expensive to find canned food without chicken, I checked on Hound & Gatos, super pricey.

Lots of reasons why seafood / fish should not be the only food a cat is fed:

Have you looked at Hare-Today.com and butcher shops for other novel proteins? Venison, bison, goat, etc.

Try using this chart to find chicken-free foods: Check This Out.... Chart For Cat Food Ingredients

Rawz has some chicken-free varieties. The brand is expensive, though, and only sold at authorized stores and a few web sites: Where to Buy | RAWZ

Salmon is right next to chicken for possible allergens. My IBD cat ate duck. Pork would be good to
