I agree with your husband that your poor kitty was probably overwhelmed by all of the activity. But, I also agree with Melissa, that it is probably a good idea to take him to the vet just in case.

Also...please take yourself to a doctor....cat bites become wickedly infected very quickly. You will likely need antibiotics and a tetinus shot.

My cat is 4 years old and did the same thing to me. Tore my leg up! Turns out she has some blockage in her colon. I have her on diet food and doing my best to not be afraid. She is getting better each day. I still absolutely love and adore her and will not get rid of her. I'll keep her until it's her time to go and deal with it.
