I belong to breeders forums and feline health forums and have seen posts on them about problems with Friskies canned food. One lady even lost her cat, while others are saying cats are vomiting, having diarrhea and lack of appetite.
I think the biggest issue is that "problems with Friskies" is not at all specific. What kind of health issues are people seeing? Are these cats fed exclusively Friskies? Any particular lots, textures or flavors?
Jasmine and Lydia ate Friskies from about April to November 2018 when I had to put Jasmine down. Jasmine improved dramatically on it after losing weight and appetite. On Friskies she was finally, eating, active and gaining weight. She also stopped vomiting every other day. So my experience was the exact opposite of the reported problems.
I definitely think we all need to remain informed of possible problems with foods we may be feeding! The more information we share, the better informed we can be. Correlation is not causation, which I realize can go both ways

That's crazy, Purina paid your bills but didn't accept the responsibility? Wouldn't paying the bills be an admission of fault or whatever the courts like to call that...All I know is there have been problems reported on the forums. Purina does not usually make public any issues- that I know for a fact. 2 of my my cats got sick from a Purina product a few years ago (diagnosed by a vet) and while they paid the vet bills, they did not accept responsibility.
No sorries allowedWhen we had our probelms my girls stopped eating, were vomiting and had very loose stools as well as having a slight temperature. The vet determined it was from the food- Friskies pate. The lady who lost her cat dealt with similar symptoms and she was feeding the chunky Friskies. In fact all of the other people reporting problems mentioned the same symptoms, most using the chunky types (not pate). No mention of flavor. I have tried to be as specific as I can but it seems it is not enough. I am sorry- I was just trying to help.
~ You did help. No need to apologize . There are others here who have had issues with Friskies. I think anyone would post about problems. We're all a little nuts here as out cats are like family. No mention of flavor. I have tried to be as specific as I can but it seems it is not enough. I am sorry- I was just trying to help.
Pardon me, what does a bone shard look like? I have found tiny pieces of what I think is cartilage, they tear easy between my fingers. Is that bone shard? ThanksI looked up complaints on Consumer reviews and noticed that one person said he found bone shards in the pate. I would look for those if feeding pate, just in case. That was Feb 23 2019.
