Feral / Stray ? Started living inside on Oct 16th

Good Morning Sunshine

Unc Now understands what he sees Outside from the 2nd floor window
is His Backyard, He will get up and run downstairs and out his cat door if
he sees something that catches his Eye.

Oh he understands it from both sides, If he notices me in the kitchen window
from the backyard and I call him he will come up

No he has Priority on ANY SPOT in the house
BUT I have started to close the down stairs access door to the upstairs
when it rains, He has not learned to DRY OFF first so he gets stuck down
stairs until I go check him out. (Its inside, just not upstairs Oh and NO CARPET.

He LOVES to take photos, Seems to Pose for Me BUT as you can see from the
earlier photo HE GETS MAD if I dont give him warning and a chance to straighten up

Yup Looking back at one of the First photos taken Oct 2023 (3 months ago) he
was for sure a younger Cat (Less than a year)
Two different colored eyes and wearing his summer coat. Now has two green eyes
and sporting his Long Winter Coat

I think someone is your biggest fan! The early photos look like Uncs nephew- he has changed so much( same adorable little face though)

I hear ya, I had to go back and make sure it was the SAME CAT

I do believe this is his first Winter
Did some research on when Feral cats have there litters

Asked Google when do feral cats have litters
" kitten season can extend from February through November, however, most kittens are born during spring "

And since he had different color eyes at the start (eyes change color within the first year)
And he has put on 3 LBS in three months I suspect he is still growing

Very Lucky to get him when I did, I feel I just hit the WINDOW for getting him socialized before he
turned fully wild.

The only difference between your sweet little housecst named Fluffy and a cat born outside to a Momma living in a feral" state" is their behavior- and behavior can be reconditioned BACK to whst they ought to be in the first place',what they truly are - a domestic animal

This is sometimes a controversy topic but DNA is DNA Try domesticating a tiger- you might tame him but watch what happens if he doesn't get fed for a week!Tame a feral and you'll have a loving friend

This last Heavy Nighttime rain, Last Night he has come in ONLY Slightly Damp
He does not Use the Litter Box any-longer, since he got the Kitty Door, I put one
down stairs inside Next to the Kitty Door in case he does not want to get wet

I had my Sami's DNA tested through my Vets office,I forget the name of who they use but I have it somewhere if you want the info- I believe it was only $40....
We were all positive Sami is a Bengal because I suspected a very nearby Bengal breeder dumped him and left him for dead( he could barely breathe my poor baby,maybe 4wks old)

Had to take a break as Unc needed my Lap, He is getting to big for just my lap,
he now needs me to stretch out my legs

Getting a DNA mouth swap would of been easy a few weeks ago
Now all he wants is for me to is Rub or Brush his face, I now need to reserve that
as a treat not a always

I'm not sure about those at home kits that you mail in- I believe Wisdom and Basepaws are supposed to be legitimate but from what I understand it's much better someone familiar with taking samples is better to comb or brush out a really nice cell group that's not tainted with cat food,lol

Embark has 230,000 markers - double all their competitors .... I really don't remember who my vets use but they do both ancestry and health traits with 2 different labs there

He has now started to sleep in the Inner Sanctum ( Holy of Holies ) My Bed Room
In the past he would only come in to remind me it was time to eat, like clockwork
he will come in, look at me, and when I looked back
he would run out and lay by the door waiting for me to come out at which time
he runs to His kitchen food bar.
Only the last 3 nights he has started to
sleep on the night stand that is just a little above my head when I am sleeping.
He sleeps there with his head hanging over the edge, looking in my direction,
I catch him looking to make sure I am still there on occasion
And as a matter of fact he is sleeping there now as i type this message
