Rufoused silver, wash your mouth out
genetically blacks as OS said. Generally not much rufousing in any colour, but it doesn't matter much in non-silvers, and as you'd know having silvers it's undesired in silver though not a fault in the standard it is mentioned as undesirable
I knew I was completely clueless!
So it's similar/same as 'bronze' with Maus (and if it is, why the different names confusing brainless people like me?!
)? Is there something like warm tones preferred over colder brown in shows/breeding?

Completely OT but I just visited the cutest choco tabby BSH kitten today! Well, his/her siblings too, but this one gave me 'the look' and grabbed my finger with his tiny paw.. and stole my heart. I nearly shed a tear, I'm glad I don't have room for that one! He was very warm toned and excellent contrast. Dropped of Luna to see her new 'boyfriend' and saw the breeders' kittens. Now hoping that Luna will have a successful weekend, or we'll have to have another 12 hours in a car, trying to watch out for moose and deer jumping from the darkness on to the road (lots of them here this time of the year, and dark after 6pm)..

Well I have no idea on Bronze Mau's
To me they look the same shading as a brown Bengal which is a bit different to a Tawny Oci, but again they have various tones in brown Bengals too so it could just be the ones I've seen at shows.

Tones don't seem to matter much, I've shown a cold chocolate and a warm chocolate and both did very well. So long as the contrast is there.

Aww sweet little tabby Brit. Good luck with Luna, glad you made it there safely.

So lovely, I particularly like the silvers.

*adds chocolate silver ocicat to list of dream pets*
There's a good breeder in NZ too
Ashia and Hattie both have a NZ parent from that breeder.

Okay you've got me intrigued...

What is the name of the breeder? Got a website?

I can't get one yet but I can plan... ;)
