If the conjunctivitis came back, you should probably take him back to the vet - as mentioned, it might be allergies or herpes, which can cause chronic conjunctivitis. If it is herpes, your kitty may need an antiviral eye drop, as antibiotics only work for bacterial infections.

If you can, try seeing an eye specialist, or asking for a vet at the clinic that is more experienced with eye issues in cats.
