We're working on a series of articles to be added to our article section next month, discussing various aspects of feeding raw.

If you have good-quality pictures showing your cats eating raw, or pictures of raw food preparation, and you don't mind them being used to illustrate the articles with, please post them here. Credit will be provided, of course.

Thank you!

Food for 5 cats and a dog.

Taking apart a chicken breast to reveal tenderloin underneath breast muscle

Parting a chicken wing

Parting a leg quarter

Prepping food for 5 cats for 2 days, plus making up the weekly organ/sardine mix.

Organ mix: half pound of pork kidney, half pound of chicken liver, a can or two of sardines.

The turkey drumstick that will be deboned and cut up.

The wings and eggs.  The eggs were used for that day's meal.  Three eggs between 5 cats.  I normally do 5 eggs: one per cat per week.

Pork chops that will have the bones removed.

Mashed up the sardines after I rinsed them.

Noting that livers can be multiple colors.

Bowls that are labeled are ready

Organ mix ready.  The cats get 1 tablespoon of this a day.

Organs are in the bowls.  White powder is egg shell powder for Mooch

Getting there in prep.  Just need to add the meat!

Weighing the meat.

Weighing the meat, bone and organ to make sure I have enough for that particular cat.

Hi there,

I have some pics as well. I have much more but I think most pics that have been posted here are already perfect so some that might fill in a gap:

Jasper always impatient

Jasper at the 'feeding dome' - food can be entertainment as well

Always stealing... nothing is too big

and a boring one ;-)

I'm very curious about your article! :-)

Furry greetings,

Silke and Linus, Jasper, Jinpa & Lucy

Wow! Hell of a work. And all for us readers? This is exciting.
They're not the most in-depth articles or guides, but hopefully instructive. Once reading the articles, for anyone with further interest, the forums are here for additional questions, information, and help. :)

I went ahead and took some this morning....

The set up:  I have pre-packaged my meats and organs for the day (for 5 animals).  They are packaged as whole as I can manage, to reduce cut surfaces, then frozen.  I pull what I need from the freezer a day ahead for thawing.

Now I chop it up for individual portions:  The cats are getting the wing bits, and the dog is getting the leg/thigh.

Portioning the liver (heart is on the plates already).

What's this?

I've pulled Belle's portion to the board for special treatment... since she only has 3 teeth to her name

Mommy SMASH!

Then cut;  the skin is very strong, and the raw bones are actually easy to cut through with scissors

Then I put all of Belle's portion into a bowl for even more special treatment.

Clean up time!

First rinse....

Then spray;  I use a 10% bleach solution with just a smidge of laundry soap added.  I use liquid laundry soap, because it is formulated to work with bleach.  Dish soaps have ammoniates that react badly with bleach.  Some folks prefer to use vinegar solution, and that's perfectly fine (I'm just an old school restaurant gal).

What's on the menu today, Mom?

Chicken, Beef Heart, and Beef Liver... you hungry?

YES PLEASE!!

OM NOM NOM NOM!!!

Oh Loki, you're such a messy eater... good thing I've got plenty of baby wipes for that.

Now Pippen is such a little gentleman...

... mostly.

Here's a peek at my freezer....  I buy in bulk and then portion out daily packages, then vac pack and freeze.

Organ meats on top shelf:  liver, kidney, heart, brain, melt, and there's even some small fishies back there somewhere...

Pork, chicken feet, beef on second shelf

Chicken and lamb on the third shelf

Individualized meal packages in the bottom bin for petsitting or "OMGi'mfreakinlate" days.

My god, as someone who just orders ground proteins and Alnutrin from hare-today, these photos make me feel downright lazy!
